We stayed at Freedomland just before christmas for 5 nights. It really is a perfect escape away from the manic western world, you stay in rustic huts and feel like you've united with nature. The bathrooms are open topped and if you need to pee in the night you might bump into a cheeky frog or gecko. It took me... More

My family stayed here for 3 nights and had a lovely time....words cannot describe how amazing the food was, and communal dinning was very nicely done with an opportunity to meet other travellers. The staff were all lovely as was the accomodation and grounds. The nearest beach wasn't too far although it was 30 minutes each way with our 4... More

Whilst slightly nervous about not booking a place with a pool or on the beach (15 min stroll) this place was perfect. Our three kids - 9, 7 and 3 - contentedly hung out in the hammocks, played board games, made up games and read books. The electronic devices were barely seen. The kids were happy to stroll down to... We stayed at Freedomland a couple of weeks ago, and haven't stopped thinking about the experience since! The beach is beautiful and isolated, the food was creative and wonderful, and each day / night we met new interesting people of varied ages, cultures and backgrounds. The accommodation is as described, and really allows you to forget about the outside world.... More

I will be visiting Freedomland in my mind for years to come. I wish we were as fortunate as our other international travelers (to live close and have tons of vacation days). If so, we'd go back often. Instead, it will be our "mental escape to paradise". Peter cooked AMAZING food every night. Rita catered to us more than she... More

This place is amazing, but really, really expensive for what you get. $70 a night and no hot showers or breakfast? That said, I did have a good time and don't regret going there. The dinners were great and it was really easy to meet lots of interesting people due to the communal eating. Plus their beach is beautiful (15... More

Peter and Rita have created a place that is magical, peaceful and relaxing. The food is superb, cocktails really tasty and the staff more than helpful. It is luxury, just not in the form that you're used to. Bungalows are comfortable and the beach is really beautiful. The best part was the dinner with all the other guests. We met... More

After traveling for 3 weeks around Vietnam in November we wanted to stay in a nice place by the beach to relax before going back home. We got inspired by other people's reviews and decided to call Freedomland. We spoke to Rita, who made very clear the type of place they run not to mislead or disappoint anybody. We loved... More

We chose our trip to Phu Quoc based on the reviews of Freedomland and it didn't disappoint. As we booked a little late we only had the option of staying 2 nights in the stone house, 1 night in the tangerine bungalow and 1 night in the jungle bungalow and each were perfectly clean, cool and spacious. If I had... More

We stayed four days at freedomland and we were extremely excited about it! Freedomland is a different experience than any other hotel / bungalow I have stayed at. The communal dinners every night encourages you to get to know the other guests, so don't go here if you want a solo experience, but don't be scared of it either, there... More
