The good: easy to find, pleasant enough reception staff, little terraces outside rooms The bad: dirty rooms, rat infested, very noisy traffic/workmen/school, bed sheet had one rip and TWO cigarette burns in, only one threadbare blanket provided, rock hard pillows, all furniture very worn and filthy, no hot water, wifi turned off early. I wasn't expecting 5 star luxury, but... More

I stayed in wisma for 2 nights so i could hike mt. Simbayak, the staff offered alot of usefull info for hiking and i suggest you talk to the staff before you attempt a solo hike so you dont miss a turning on the trail. The food was ok and room was basic, they could do with some better bath... More

I read some of the not-so-good reviews and am wondering if some people are expecting a bit much for $10/night (there are also cheaper options). I had a huge room with a balcony, I could access wifi, the food was really quite good (in particular the Berastagi pancake and avocado milkshake), and the woman at reception was really nice, had... It is really really at the end of the main street, just keep walking until a three-way junction and a huge cabbage statute which can't be overlooked. I think the street name is jalan veteran but don't quote me on that. Room is really spacious but low on furniture (no wardrobe, no toilet paper, and toilet cannot be flushed) Breakfast... More

The hotel staff here are experienced and very helpful. They have dogs here so, for those who are dog phobia (does this exist??), be cautious. One of the dog is grumpy but still tame. I and my partner stayed here for 1 night to plan for the hike to Mount Sibayak, however, the weather failed us. It's cold here and... More

This budget hostel is located on the Southern end of the main street near a round point with a big green cabbage sculpture. Because of the location, is a little bite noisy sometimes. All the others good hotels I saw while staying there, were far from the center. This hostel was a suitable central option for exploring the surrounding areas... More

This place has one building for the higher priced hotel rates while the other section has rooms for the budget conscious. The budget rooms have shared bathrooms. Generally, the room and bed are clean. The hotel staff is very knowledgeable about where to visit and provide maps for the various places. They are very helpful, even lending out helmet, padlock... We stayed at Wisma Sibayak for 2 nights in Feburary 2013. We were with a party of four. One couple had a room for 100.000 Rupees per night with private bathroom and the other couple one with shared bathroom for 50.000 Rupees. The bathroom wasn’t the only difference, the more expensive room also looks and is more luxurious (nice bed/furniture... More
