Comfortable beds, but with no upper sheet available. Cold room, no hot water in the room. Very noisy. Common places, as the tables of the restaurant were always dirty. Not great, but I don't know if there are better places to stay in Berastagi.

My partner and I stayed here for two nights - a very friendly place that knows what its guests want (advice about the volcanoes mainly, and good cheap food). We didn't have a problem with noise in our room that others seem to have suffered - our room was near the school rather than road. Highly recommended.

Family who runs this guesthouse is really helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, the location is just by the main road and the noise never seems to quite down, hence earplugs were a must!!! Our room (the extra room) was clean, however the night after there was a small earthquake we had a rat in the room (apparently they come out after... More

This guesthouse is located on the main street where the cabbage monument is. Unfortunately it was the loudest hotel we have stayed at in four months in South East Asia. The main road is insanely loud day and night and sleeping without earplugs- even for non-sensitive sleepers, might be a struggle. On top of that, at 7am the school behind... More

The staff at Wisma Sibayak are very helpful and friendly. We stayed for a handful of days and the owner was very nice and helped us figure out local transport to get around. They have a wide range of prices for their rooms - I stayed in a basic room, which was comfortable and tiny (just what I payed for).... More

First of all, Berastagi isn't a place you want to get stuck for a long time. Though it's fun for a day or 2. Seeing the market, go walk te vulcano. There are not so much places to stay. So a lot of people end up at the Wisma. Staff is really helpful. We had a standard room for 100.000,... More

Wisma Sibayak Guest House is situated in a very good central location which makes it a good base for visiting outlying villages and the volcanoes. The time we were there saw a lot of volcanic activity and was at times quite scary but seeing the locals going about their business unconcerned we were able to relax. The rooms are clean, comfortable... More

The location is great since it is in the main street of Berastagi. The walk from there to the beginning of the path to the mount Sibayak is about 20 minutes. The staff is friendly and they can organize you transportation to Medan, Bukit Lawang, Pulau Samosir and probably to every other places of interest. The room we had was... More

It's located in main street with easy access to local public transport, in fact it's only 3 minute walking distance from Berastagi market - terminal & when you enter their lobby, which is also their travel agent office, don't be surprised on their welcoming friendly smiles........ We took corner room at 2nd floor, it was very simple room w/bathroom inside... More

A lot has already been said that I'd agree with- very friendly and helpful staff especially if you want to climb a volcano. Good food for a good price and shared bathroom rooms 60,000- who can argue with that?! Id agree the shared bathroom isn't great but it does the job. And for 10,000 (less than £1) I'm not going...
