I travelled with my two children 10 & 7 - did not get off to a good start when they did not have a booking for us and put us in different rooms to what we had booked. Apart from that hiccup we loved staying at this hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious. The kids club was great, I... More

-yes, I just used the word snazzy! But really, this place is absolutely wonderful! It's quiet and secluded, gorgeous grounds and rooms (I'll dare you to stand in the bathroom and not say the word 'wow' out loud!), and the staff treated you like each and every single one of them was the owner. I was not in the main... More

I stayed here for a work do for one and half nights and i found the place to be absolutly amazing. After spending a night in the Jungle coming to this place was great. We stayed in a deluxe room which was in the main building and our room was mainly gold and all marble in the bathroom. One time... More

The hotel lobby is stunning at first sight. The environment is good and the staff service is satisfactory. The room is just fine but don't expect it's really like a good 5 star hotel room. The most disappointed part is the restaurants. We tried both lunch and seafood dinner at two separate restaurants. They are expensive, but the food quality... More

Should have stayed longer. One of the nicest hotels that I visited. Staff friendly and even let me to take the golf clubs and pretend that I was a club member for a photograph. Lunch on the 2nd floor restaurant was great. No wine, so if you want a glass over a meal, BYO. Service is prompt, dishes are delicious.... More

The hotel is indeed impressive at first glance, marble and gold leaf everywhere in a huge lobby - but the quality is only skin-deep. A classic case of lots of money being spent, but with no class. The staff are generally cheerful and friendly, but are either not authorised or not capable of actually being any use. We stayed during... More

I've stayed at the Empire for 3 years in a row, but was dissapointed with the carnival laid on as part of the Sultan's birthday celebrations. It had the feeling of a cheap village fete and wasn't what I expected from a luxury hotel. I tried to enjoy the loud music but the tannoy announcements were just plain annoying. When... More

The most luxurious, clean, yet casual hotel around. Out of this world, the staff, rooms, service, facilities all surpass expectations. If you had to pick one fault there wouldn't be one. We will be going back again & again.

As part of our Asia-Tour-2009 holiday we had earlier stayed in the Hyatt Regency Kinabalu in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia and we have now flown on with Royal Brunei from Kota Kinabalu to Brunei International Airport ( Bandar Seri Begawan ) in a proud 20 min. flight! A wow experience to behold, Folks! A Flyers delight! After our arrival at... More

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of a 3 week holiday to Borneo. It is an amazing hotel - impossible to do it full justice with a brief description. It is truly the last word in opulence and covers a huge area. Our room was large with a huge bathroom clad in marble with a sunken bath... More
