The Sultan's palace of 1,000-or-so rooms is only partially "open" to the public 3 days a year. The Empire only has a few hundred rooms and allows suitably-dressed outsiders to wander around its palatial corridors, lobbies, gardens and pool areas all day. It's well worth the cost of a high-tea in the lobby or a meal in a poolside restaurant... More

What an incredible hotel! The Empire was awesome. It's a gigantic property and everything is well appointed. It's an exceptionally unique hotel with a magnificent view of the South China Sea. The service was great. The property was one of a kind and I wish I had an opportunity to stay longer. I will certainly make sure I stay here... More

Visited Brunei to attend a 2 day sales and marketing seminar between 26 to 28th January, 2016. The organizers had put us up at this property and what a property this is. Initially built as a palace for a prince this property is simply stunning. Located about 15 minutes from the main city, the resort is nestled in the middle... More

I've stayed here with my wife twice on the way home from Australia for a treat to break up the long haul home - and what a treat it is! I've stayed in some fantastic hotels around the world, and back home in England, but when you walk into the main atrium of the Empire your jaw just drops. This... More

The Empire Hotel was built by one of the Bruneian Princes and has a very luxurious style. The staircases have hundreds of tiger eye gems inserted into the banisters and there is so much gold leaf and crystal about you feel like you are staying in a palace not a hotel. All the rooms are first class with luxurious bedding... More

This hotel deserves to be called one of the best ones in the world. It has a giant pool similar to a lagoon which is so long that you can do kayak, paddle surf. It also has 2 beaches but its not very recommendable since theres no lifeguard and the water is brown and sometimes rough. I highly recommend you... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the empire hotel. Staff was super friendly, we felt very welcome. Room was spacious and clean, great balcony where you could even smoke. Brunei people are very nice, and helpful. We stayed 3 nights which was enough bearing in mind that there is not a lot to do in the area.
