When I stayed at "Roosje van de Kaap" it's been great. Very nicely decorated room in the garden with mountain-view. The owner tells us about the baboon-free-area (it's save to sleep with open window) which is really nice. I cannot recommend Roosje van de Kaap highly enough. The place has old world charm and a pleasant pool & is located close to historic sights, restaurants and a national park, but its greatest asset is the owner (Ilizabet) and her general manager. Terrible welcome:outside,do you have a voucher,I'll show you the room. Restaurant is closed today. Goodbye.Rooms are poor. At departure location closed. Nobody around. Most unfriendly place during a stay from a month in South Africa. Waste of money. more

Phoned just an hour before we arrived in Swellendam exhausted with no place to stay. Arrived to a very warm welcome. Lovely cottages set in pleasant gardens. The rooms were very quaint, though dimly lit, and contained antique furniture. The restaurant is excellent and renowned as being one of the best on the garden route. We would definitely stay here again! more
