This is a great stop on the Garden Route. It has self catering as well as bed and breakfast. The room I had was small, but comfortable and a great shower. I slept well in the comfortable bed. Breakfast was great. The fruit salad was well presented; for the rest, eggs as you want it. The proprieter, Ian, and his... More

The lodge is personally supervised by the proprietor and the service was very friendly and efficient. The lodge is conveniently situated for the N2 but without any road noise. It is thus a very convenient stopover for a trip along the Garden Route. The rooms are well-appointed and the breakfasts of a very high standard.

This is the 4th time we have stayed in Pelican Lodge. The level of service remains consistently high. The delectable leisurely breakfast ensured a happy day. Congratulations on the recent renovations and upgrade of the bathroom. Loved the new style and convenience. Warm regards Nell and Dido

Sedgefield is in between George and Knysna and if like us you want a little less tourist location then this is an ideal stop to break a journey on the garden route. We played golf twice but there are many courses quite close, Pelican lodge offers dinner and this is not to be missed. Make sure Ian makes his curries... More

We loved Pelican Lodge and in particular, Ian, the owner who has dedicated himsefl to creating the perfect bed and breakfast experience. His breakfasts are legendary and the service very personal and thoughtful. Mission accomplished!! If you are into beach walks, you will find three of the most highly rated beautiful beaches along the Garden Route in Sedgefield. Ian helped... More

We were warmly welcomed and well cared for by Ian, the owner, and Di the manager. There was a plunge pool and two new loungers by the pool, although small it was very pleasant for cooling off in. An excellent area for birding. Many thanks James and Doreen

After reading previous reviews about this place, I'm so glad my wife and I chose to stay for 4 days to explore this stunning area. The friendly home environment Ian has created with his team is wonderful, and you feel right at home from the moment you meet them all. We were welcomed by Ian after our drive from Addo,... More

Without doubt this is THE place to stay in the area. I have been coming to stay here over several years now, sometimes for two months at a time, and find Ian and his family most charming and welcoming each time I come. The rooms are extremely comfortable and tastefully decorated, and the breakfasts are more than an elegant sufficiency.... More

Fair value. Good overnight stay with some rooms and units suiting families. Sleep quality not that great. Breakfast was good with really friendly kitchen staff. We had a misunderstanding with the management regarding our booking change that resulted in a cancellation fee. Fair enough - but left a sour taste as we are annual guests - and we won't be... More

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for your feedback, it has been a great pleasure each year to have you and your Golfing buddies visit us, and I was saddened to hear that you won't be coming back due to some of the guys leaving for Australia. A pretty basic place but really good. The owner was really great as were the staff and since there isn't much in the area I would definitely recommend this place. Decent size rooms and the room was well kept. The Internet worked pretty well as well which is a big plus in Africa .. If you are there on a... More
