This hotel is a real find in this area . A beautiful boutique hotel with great amenities. Our room looked straight onto a swimming pool , was large and airy with a steepled ceiling . The bathroom was very well appointed with lovely soaps , shower gels etc . Ate in the restaurant, Reuben 's , in the evening which... More

The Small Hotel is a tranquil oasis in the hot, dry Karoo. We arrived to find we had been upgraded to the honeymoon suite, which occupies the entire top floor of the old stables and is enormous. Every comfort is provided for, including a complimentary mini bar. The bathroom was, to put it mildly, huge, with freestanding bath (room for... More

We only stayed for one night and thought this was a great little hotel. There were adults only there at the time and it was a lovely, quiet oasis. It's an old building that has been modernised and furnished in a stylishn way. We had a poolside room which was lovely and the bathroom, well, I wish I could have... More

this was our second visit. The poolside rooms are unique and cool. A large bedroom, very tastefully furnished, and then a small private deck leading straight into the pool. The hotel building is over a hundred years old and very characterful, staff long serving (unique in Africa). And very friendly. Excellent dining and leisure areas all around the main building.... Its an enormous surprise to find such an extraordinarily good hotel in the midst of a sleepy town in the empty hinterland of the wine-lands of the Cape. And the manager / maitre d'hôte in the form of Renaldo is the most perfect orchestrator of the most lovely staff and the most perfect of stays.

Went to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary in February 2015. The hotel was absolutely stunning. We stayed in a pool suite which was bliss in the very hot weather. Could not fault a thing. The room was beautiful, the staff were so attentive and the breakfast was the best I have ever had anywhere in South Africa. Highly recommended!

From the minute we arrived, with our fantastic Welcome from Reinaldo, we knew it would be perfect and it was. He upgraded us to a lovely stable room as he felt it would be quieter over the weekend. It was a lovely room adjoining a small pool for just two rooms. Huge and lovely bathroom. Next day we moved into... More

We stayed at The Robertson Small hotel for 2 nights, and we're so disappointed to leave...not long enough. It might be 'small' but it delivers 'big' on all aspects from the friendly welcome, to excellent and very personable service from all levels of staff. Lovely room, stocked mini-bar, turn down service-everything top notch. Staff are very friendly, and happy to... More

I booked a pool room here which was great. Comfortable huge bed and large room with great bathroom. Great patio area from which you can get straight into the pool. Beautiful gardens and in a quiet street. The only disappointment were: Some dying flowers in our room from day one. (No flowers are preferable to dying ones). Reuben's restaurant (part... More

Why only one night? Both Robertson and the hotel are worthy of more. Room terrific, bathroom exceptional, inclusive minibar. Staff warm, welcoming and so helpful, ouldn't get over having the car washed as well. Reubens restaurant nice but not quite our style
