some rooms are very nice, some other would desserve a better treatment. Good hospitality, pool and garden. Good breakfast. CENTRAL POSITION IN PRINCE ALBERT, walking distance to restaurants and galleries.

My wife and I had a very pleasant stay at the Karoo lodge, we found the rooms to be clean and well appointed, just as advertised. The people are very friendly and made good suggestions of what to do and where to eat whilst we were in Prince Albert. The lodge is well situated and we were able to walk to... More

I don't know where the last reviewer was staying, but it can't have been at the same Karoo Lodge in Prince Albert where we spent a night last Friday. On arrival we were met by Elsabe, who showed us to our two rooms. Each room was huge, comfortable and clean, with TV and tea / coffee making facilities and reverse... More

Arriving at the Karoo Lodge it was evident the place had seen better days, entering our room the same could be said of all the bedding and fittings - a piece of lace material used as a lamp shade!!! - the bedding probably dates back from the seventies so thin and worn-out you could read your newspaper through it. When... More

Wow!!! It is said that constructive criticism should be taken seriously and that one need to learn from it. Comments and reviews by the same writer, applying to his/her stay at Karoo Lodge and other Guesthouses, bring the witty sayings of Oscar Wilde in perspective when he refers to "Cynical". A wider application could be found in the online dictionary.... More

What a wonderful find in Prince Albert!!! The most hospitable hosts, George and Elsabe and their lovely daughter Ragnhilde, we could not have asked for better!! The accommodations, food and overall look and feel of Karoo Lodge will definitely make me make another trip to Prince Albert for a stay at this Gem!! The food was to die for, however... More

I have been lucky enough to travel to Prince Albert at least 4 times a year on average mostly only overnighting but have always been really delighted that the office has booked there. George and Elsabe have always been warm and welcoming hosts. The food is excellent and they are well known for their hospitality, I have no hesitation in... More

Karoo Lodge is in Prince Albert, a small and attractive town outside the main tourist route in South Africa. Despite its size, there is plenty of accommodation in Prince Albert. Fortunately, we booked at Karroo Lodge. George and Elsabe are very friendly and welcoming hosts. The guest house, in which all of the rooms are suites, is very comfortable and... More

We were only able to stay one night but had a very pleasant stay at the Karoo lodge. We had a lovely meal cooked by George and great ginger beer! A very good choice in Prince Albert. Good Advice regarding Swartberg pass.

We have stayed at the Karoo Lodge several times over the years, usually for 4 to 5 nights,,unfortunately this last time which was last week,I had to cut the stay short...oh...what a disappointment!!! Such a lovely place, always a wonderful welcome...their scrambled eggs are to die for and George is a very proficient cook. Rooms are very roomy with comfortable chairs or... More

We stayed overnight on our way to Oudtshoorn KKNK and wished we could have stayed a bit longer. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a very interesting shower. Both George and Elsabe were extremely hospitable and made our stay memorable. George's food would not be out of place in a fine dining establishment! Will be back for a... More
