We spent a very comfortable night in this quaint Guest House. Mai advised on the local attractions, including some fine dining options. The room is "old world" and the breakfast prepared by Mai and her staff was very good. Loved the fresh herbs and spices! Will visit again soon.

Mai greeted us like long lost friends and showed us around all the accommodation and invited us to choose our preferred option. We chose the pool cottage because it had its own stoep although any of the rooms would have been perfectly acceptable. Mai is a delightful character and despite 40+ years in SA still retains her charming Irish brogue.... More

We stayed at Mai's for one night while passing through Prince Albert. Mai is incredibly attentive: from organising dinner reservations, to preparing an amazing, individualised breakfast. Lovely, comfy beds in spacious rooms, all for a very competitive price. Once you've experienced Mai's, you won't want to stay anywhere else.

Mai could not have picked a more appropriate way of welcoming her guests than this saying (Caed Mile Failte). When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the owner herself. She made us feel like life long friends and chatted away merrily. Mai led us to our room - the separate unit looking out onto the courtyard. I recommend this... More

Situated in the sleepy Prince Albert, this is a four room guest house. Our stay was easy and comfortable. All four rooms are big and well appointed. Ours had a double, a single and was still huge. The whole building bar room four has a misting silent version of air con that is great Breakfast was nice and well presented.... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Mai's. Our room was lovely and Mai was so helpful and friendly, she made dinner bookings and looked after us so well, the breakfasts were great. We enjoyed seeing the cats particularly Wendy.

Could not resist the "cead mile failte" (100,000 welcomes) outside this lovely charming karoo cottage right in the middle of Prince Albert. Was not disappointed as Mai was a wonderful hostess and the cottage is a real delight to stay in with original fittings and eclectic furnishing. This was capped by a wonderful breakfast in the garden surrounded by many... More

We stayed over for one evening during a hot December 2014. A quirky, pretty, well run guesthouse. Mai is very helpful and friendly, helped us make a dinner booking and ensured that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We were traveling on a touring bike so arriving there after the heat of the Karoo was like finding an... More

We enjoy staying at 4 stars places. Then we get atmosphere and character. Mai gave us both. The guesthouse is located just next to the hotel in the middle of town. The room was fine, the "aircon" worked and the breakfast was delicious. Very charming place! .

We stopped over here on the road trip from jo'burg to Cape Town. Mai is a bubbly character who fusses over her guests. However, my wife is arachnophobic and we saw a huge spider on the wall outside our room so that kind of killed the enjoyment for her. The rooms are huge, beds are comfortable, and air conditioned which... More
