We stayed in the Auberge for the Bastille weekend festival and although the town was bustling with visitors, we could retreat into the serenity of the guesthouse/boutique hotel. Within walking distance of the town and yet secluded with the most beautiful gardens and scenery. We had a cottage of our own with a fireplace and underfloor heating, which was great... More

Magnificent Franschhoek surrounds this guest house with the grandeur of its mountains and rolling mists. Our stay was lovely in every way. I highly recommend charming L'Auberge Chanteclair. My daughter was moved to a larger room at no extra cost for the last night of our stay.

What a lovely place, rooms are fab, location stunning and the owners very friendly. Very handy for Franschoek although you do need a car (or use a local taxi). Breakfast very nice outside on the terrace. Pool to sit by to unwind while digesting all the lovely food and wine in the area.

Lovely location, views amazing and constantly changing. Very relaxing if travelling and moving a lot. Great to come back to after a long days wine tasting. Pool area very nice relaxing area. Breakfast was very good out on the terrace in the morning sun. A short taxi ride into town, expect you could walk if you really wanted to, we... More

L'Auberge Chanteclair is wonderfully peaceful and yet hardly any distance from the hubbub of Franschhoek. Lovely gardens brimming with fruit trees, vines and olives make for quiet corners. An excellent breakfast and pleasant service make this place a winner.

Stayed here for just two nights but wished we could have stayed longer. The place is amazing, glorious views of the mountains, luxurious accommodation and so peaceful. Beautiful swimming pool and gardens. The hospitality was second to none - Bruce and Linda were so friendly and helpful. The breakfasts on the sun-drenched patio were wonderful too! We loved Franschhoek -... More

This guesthouse is situated only 2 minutes drive from the town of Franschhoek where there are loads of amazing restaurants. Our room and shared stoepe looked over the most heavenly view which reminded me of the Lake District, high mountains and vineyards. The breakfast patio backed on to the vineyard where you could wander, and breakfasts were home from home,... More

Stayed here of one night and wished it could have been much longer. Probably my favourite place in South Africa. The place is a little out of Franschhoek but this adds to it (10-15minute walk). The managers were very helpful and the breakfast was amazing on in the sunshine on the terrace. We stayed in the cottage with its one... More

This place is wonderful. Our only regret is we only stayed one night due to our schedule. The hosts were very accommodating and the views of the mountains and nearby vineyards was breathtaking. It is not within walking distance of downtown Franschhoek but worth the little drive from downtown. We had breakfast on the patio and everything was wonderful. Nice... More

We know Chanteclair since a few years. We have also been there many times. The present managers, Linda & Bruce were of all, the absolute best. They have changed this place; made it very professional. They revamped the homepage that is now attractive and appealing. They are always here to help and give advice, always present at breakfast time to... More
