Stayed here of one night and wished it could have been much longer. Probably my favourite place in South Africa. The place is a little out of Franschhoek but this adds to it (10-15minute walk). The managers were very helpful and the breakfast was amazing on in the sunshine on the terrace. We stayed in the cottage with its one... More

This place is wonderful. Our only regret is we only stayed one night due to our schedule. The hosts were very accommodating and the views of the mountains and nearby vineyards was breathtaking. It is not within walking distance of downtown Franschhoek but worth the little drive from downtown. We had breakfast on the patio and everything was wonderful. Nice... More

We know Chanteclair since a few years. We have also been there many times. The present managers, Linda & Bruce were of all, the absolute best. They have changed this place; made it very professional. They revamped the homepage that is now attractive and appealing. They are always here to help and give advice, always present at breakfast time to... More

Having stayed in so many excellent guest houses on this trip, we found this one to be equally good but looking a bit tired. Our hosts were really helpful and friendly and their staff were good also. The setting is beautiful and we enjoyed eating out for breakfast on the verandah.

A B&B in a beautiful setting with an energy that makes you relax and take a deep breath and really enjoy the surroundings. Stunning views on vineyards and mountains. Lovely managers. Beautiful al fresco breakfast. What's not to love? Highly recommend for a few days of unwinding in lovely Franschhoek.

Our second visit to charming Chanteclair. What makes this place stand out from the many excellent places to stay in Franschhoek are 2 things - the fantastic hosts, Linda & Bruce & all their lovely staff and the incredible views - possibly the very best in the valley. The accommodation is charming rather than luxurious - it could be made... More

Excellent welcome on arrival. Beautiful room. Lovely log fire burning when we arrived back from eating out in the evening and a terrific night security guard to greet us on return. Breakfast was taken out on the terrace looking out over the vineyards............perfect.

A delightful place to stay on the edge of the lovely little town of Franschhoek. Hosts Linda and Bruce (and Jack the labrador) made us feel as if they were welcoming us into their own home. Quiet, peaceful grounds, compete with lake and swimming pool, and vineyard to wander in, all topped off with the most beautiful views. We would... More

While we loved the spot of the Auberge and the managers' hospitality, the value for money for the guest house was not where (in our minds) it would need to be. The guesthouse interior is beginning to feel outdated, our bed was not old and not that comfortable, and breakfast was fine yet not up to standard for the price... More

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Linda and Bruce made excellent hosts, and the night security man was very helpful. He had a log fire on the go for us just minutes before we returned from the restaurant. The breakfast was very good, taken outside on the verandah, overlooking the vineyards. The whole area is stunning, plenty of red... More
