I spent a few days in one of the self catering cottages with my family back in April 2011, and can honestly say that this was one of my favourite travel experiences ever. The staff and owners were more that friendly and helpful, ensuring that our stay was as comfortable and pleasant as possible, and went the extra mile to... More

I stayed at Auberge La Dauphine in January for a friend's wedding in a nearby vineyard. This part of the country is absolutely stunning and this B&B was a recommendation from a friend that surpassed all expectations (& they were already very high). Beautiful surroundings, spacious rooms & very comfortable beds, lovely swimming pools with plenty of outdoor space &... More

Stayed here for 3 nights in February whilst in Cape Town for a friend's wedding. After 2 weeks in South Africa, having stayed in some much more expensive places, this place was definitely my favourite. Lovely accommodation, pleasant grounds in the heart of the vineyards, friendly staff and great breakfasts! Hope to return some day!

This is a lovely, slightly quaint Inn, fabulous views, excellent breakfast and the owners were outstanding hosts. Comfortable, clean rooms and spectacular grounds. Nice details such as the use of a clothes line added to the experience. Would be a great choice for families.

Probably best place we stayed in over 2 weeks across ZA. The welcome was fantastic. We stayed in owners house which we found to be of an exceptional standard and were clearly told which parts of the property were out of bounds. Breakfasts were very generous and staff very helpful. Liked the fact that the owners are rescuing dogs and... More

We stayed 2 nights in this guest house and were very happy for that choice. It is very child-friendly with a small pool, donkeys, dogs, chicken and ducks. Room - we stayed in the Chardonnay Room which was big and had the bathroon downstairs (seemed new and renovated with jacuzzi and separate shower), queensize bed downstairs (as we like to... More

Myself, parents and fiancé came to Auberge La Dauphine to stay for 4 nights while scoping the area for wedding venues, we stayed in one of the two cottages by the dam. It was lovely inside, very clean with good sized rooms, bathrooms and living/dining space. The kitchen was slightly too small but was ok for the amount of eating... More

Nomad Perino is right. were were put in the owners house too, but it was clearly pointed out to us by the manageress that the only areas we could use was the stairs and our room, which felt a bit sad (we later moved as the air con was not available in the owners house). The owners areas are open... More

These guests were unhappy on their first night because their guest room did not have air conditioning, despite the room having a wonderful concertina door/window which opens right out and leaves the room completely open on one side (which the guests declined to mention above!) (We are amazed the guests felt a bit sad that they could only use this... More

This property could really be a gem. It is reasonably priced, has a great location overlooking the Franschhoek valley and has some very accommodating staff (the front desk manager was especially helpful in finding a quiet place to use a computer for an unfortunately timed conference call). So here is the short of it: There are two places to stay... More

On arrival, our manageress clearly explained to these guests that our sitting room (which this guest referred to as a veranda) with our TV, settees and coffee table) was a private area. She also explained that the guest's room had its own balcony with chairs and views, as well as showing the guest various "lounging" areas with lovely views outside... More

Stayed here for two nights at the start of our three week stay in South Africa in January 2013. Comfortable room with galleried lounge area above. Mini fridge with fresh milk allowed early morning wake up tea. Excellent breakfast cooked to order. Owners and staff very friendly and helpful
