The Last Word was such a gorgeous way to end our recent holiday to Africa. This small boutique B&B really knows how to add to a stay with the 'little touches' that mean a lot. Conrad, the manager, is an excellent host who understands what his guests need and when to give them space, he offered valuable advice and tips... More

The Last Word is a beautiful little hotel. The enthusiastic and helpful concierge greeted us with a smile and a glass of wine. He had already made a dinner reservation for us, and within a few minutes he mapped out a walking tour of Franschhoek for us. Absolutely superior service. If I could give six stars, I would. We made... More

We stayed here with friends for two nights and it was perfect. The location is within walking distance to great restaurants in the town and you are spoilt for choice. Conrad goes out of his way to attend to everything and is attentive and efficient. His team are also polite and service orientated and well trained. The rooms are comfortable... More

We stayed over for 1 night (Sunday to Monday). Rooms on ground floor (with courtyard, no views though) extremely spacious and equally spacious bathrooms. All 5* amenities available in the rooms. Should you want to stay on the 1st floor, rooms are the same, but no balconies. Check in was easy, there is no real reception, but clients sit down... More

Our anniversary was coming up and I was tasked with sorting out the accommodation. I always use TripAdvisor for recommendations and prices. I stumbled upon the Last Word, which wasn't rated the highest, but neither was it the most expensive. Although we had to call them a few times to confirm the booking, as no one phoned in the days... Had the pleasure of returning to TLW Franschhoek for an extended weekend break, and was pleased to see that the overall standard of highly attentive customer service and understated luxury has been maintained. Conrad, Franklin and the entire team are always on hand to chat to guests and make recommendations, backed up by a friendly smile. All of this in... More

The Last Word is a wonderful small hotel. It is in walking distance to good restaurants and many small shops. It is also close to the Wine Tram pickup point. The living room area provides guests with a great opportunity to mingle over drinks and snacks. The concierge, Franklin, was extremely helpful with lunch and dinner reservations and getting taxis... From the time we were picked up at the airport until we were dropped off - the staff and The Last Word was excellent. They helped us with all planning of our activities, set up transportation and with dinner selections. The room was excellent- clean, well appointed and they had the cheese plate/snacks ready for us when we arrived as... More

We stayed at the Last Word to visit SA winelands after a fantastic safari at Kruger. We thought the accommodations could not get better than at Thornybush, but then the Last Word took us to another level. Franklin took care of us like family from the moment we arrived at the gate until we left. He is a one-man show... More
