We only stayed at La Fontaine for 1 night during our honeymoon trip in South Africa but wish we could have stayed longer. We had a lovely greeting from Kathie who was as excited as us about our honeymoon! Despite an early arrival we were made to feel very welcome and leaving our bags before we disappeared wine tasting was... More

Stayed 2 nights. Stunning building with big room and lovely pool area. Excellent location - nice and close to the start point of the wine tram. Would definitely recommend staying in Franschhoek rather than Stellenbosch. Main Street has fantastic selection of restaurants.

Franschhoek still has that small friendly village atmosphere and we will make sure it stays that way. We hope you had a memorable stay and that you will recommend Franschhoek and La Fontaine to your friends and family! - See you or them soon! Warm wishes, Kathie More

Kathie manages to make you feel right at home no matter how busy she is. We only had one night there but I wish we had more. The location is central in Franschhoek and perfect for taking advantage of local shops and restaurants. She was able to book us a table for dinner last minute on a Saturday night. We... More

South Africans are known to be warm, hospitable and friendly and I hope that I have instilled that approach in my staff - it does not take much to make people smile!! In any successful business, location is one of the most important factors and La Fontaine has the best location when it comes to distance to the shops and... More

A very nicely presented environment. Breakfast was very good, particularly if you like it in the German/Nordic style (which matched most of the guests). Franschhoek is impressive, with a dramatic landscape full of contrast in geography... and wealth... It has very good restaurants. Franschhoek is very recommendable to stay one night to visit the area of the wineries. Better travel... More

Just had time for a one night stop on our recent holiday and what a treat. Before we arrived Kathie was extremely helpful in planning our day and even though she was busy with a wedding party she still found time to make us feel at home. We had a fabulous garden room and were treated to a superb breakfast.... More

We stayed for 1 night in feb. the location is ideal, 5 mins to town and 15 mins walk to vineyards. We would recommend Chamomix for wine tasting. The room was large, light and airy. The staff were extremely helpful & booked a restaurant for our evening meal. The breakfast was superb, lots of choice. We only stayed 1 night... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in February at the end of our holiday in South Africa. Whilst we enjoyed the stay we felt the accommodation wasn’t to the same standard of many of the other hotels and guest houses we stayed at on the trip. great location – the house was just across the road from one of the... Thank you for your review. As we were 100% full it was extremely difficult to juggle with our confirmed bookings so as not to move you from room to room because of the agents mistake! During the winter we upgraded the swimming pool area to allow for more space by making the flower beds smaller - a great improvement! As... More

La Fontaine stands right in the heart of Franschhoek so it's within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. Our rooms were away from the main house in a building with its own lounge and kitchen set in a charming garden. The "honesty bar" was a well-stocked fridge in the kitchen. Guests wrote down what they had selected from the... More

Thank you so much for your review. The late 19th century building has such charm and character but with all the modern day amenities. Our location is great - no need to drive to the restaurants so that you can enjoy the wonderful selection of wines that Franbschhoek has to offer. We look forward to welocming you or your friends... We stayed here 2 nights in February 2014. A party of 4 we were in the adjoining property, which far from being a dissapointment was really peaceful and we felt as though we had the place to ourselves. Breakfast is very good, the only downside is the tables are much too small for 4 people, However this pales into insignificance... More

Hi seasoned travellers! Thank you so much for your review. We do agree that the tables are a bit small for 4 people but as we serve breakfast outside under the vine covered pergola, the space is slightly limited as most of the guests want to enjoy the sunshine and do not want to sit in the breakfast room where...
