What a find these guesthouses were! We thoroughly researched our trip to SA, and it certainly paid off. We stayed in Gelatenheid which is an amazing property, with lots of attention to detail, and huge rooms. We stayed in Vruegde guesthouse for 2 nights in August, and we wished we could have stayed there for longer! This was our 2nd visit. Akademie St is a must stay for anyone. Location is in the upmarket town of Franshoek with beautiful restaurants on the door step. Arthur & Catherine are outstanding hosts who can not do enough for you. Accommodation is top class and good value. more

Our villa (Gelatenheid) was attended to with great care and an experienced, discerning, eye for the smallest detail. A great value (converted for our Canadian Dollar) but more importantly a very special place as a 'home base' for grape explorations in the region.
