A fantastic place with loads of special touches. We stayed in Vreugde which is fairly small but has everything you need including a really comfortable bed! More than compensating for the room size is a wonderful outside courtyard area, a really special place to relax after a strenuous day. Can really recommend this hotel!

This is by far the best guesthouse we have stayed in. The owners make you feel so welcome and provide a range of complimentary drinks including sparkling wine. The breakfast each day is a feast and they way they cook their mushrooms is exception. Location is great, just off the Main Street . Worth a visit if you are planning... More

That's what it says and I'm not going to disagree. everything was perfect, peaceful, luxurious. The only fault I could possibly raise would be that the "room" we had (well house is a better description), Gelatenheid, is ridiculously large for just two people, it must be at least 10 times larger than any normal hotel room, with two baths plus... Have just returned from 2 nights away from the kids at Akademie Street and it was as wonderful the second time around as the first (husband's 40th so couldn't think of a better place to be). If you are looking for peace, privacy, relaxation and pure class look no further. I can't really add anything else other than I must... More

Almost can't describe how amazing this place was. We stayed in the Gelatenheid cottage which is ridiculously nice. It's absolutely massive for two people, it's on two floors (basically a house!), had a pool, two huge balconies, two baths, a pool, and all the decor and everything inside was done perfectly. Katherine (one of the owners) was incredibly friendly and... More

Our second visit this year. The cottages, the gardens, the breakfast and not least, the South African hospitality are all literally second to none. Thanks again to Hazel, Catherine, Arthur and all of the staff. hazel and don taylor

Beautiful, private, quiet houses & gardens only a few blocks from the Main Street. The owners & staff were warm, welcoming & very helpful while also staying in the background until needed giving you your privacy. A lot of extra special touches such as free minibar & snacks & fresh flowers. And the breakfast was amazing.

We stayed for two nights. It's hard to think how the proprietors and staff could've helped us more. Outstanding service (in an understated way) and a great breakfast. It's made very clear, if there's something you want that isn't there - just ask. Excellent!

Acknowledged asxz one of the top 50 boutiques hotels in the world! And a well deserved reputation. The service is quiet, somewhat understated but totally responsive to one's every need! Laundry brought us back to our packings at the beginning of our trip! a free minibar and snacks! great breakfast of one's choice! total privacy for each of the guest... More
