Took a chance and booked here for the night. They upgraded us at no extra cost and the manager was a pleasure to deal with. Overall a wonderful find at very reasonable rates. The guest house is close to the main street but far enough away to be very quiet.

We stayed at ReaLou for seven nights in April 2014 and enjoyed it very much! Our room was big, had a small kitchen (perfect when you have small kids) and a large bathroom. Breakfast was served right outside the room on the veranda. (Unfortunately only cold breakfast is included in the price, hot breakfast is extra.) The garden has a... More

Original booking was lost. I was annoyed as we had recommended to our 6 friends who all got the rooms they booked! Our welcome was good, Innocent was the best! Very knowledgeable and helpful. The room we stayed in was small. Bedside lights not suitable for reading. A very tight squeeze between toilet and shower! Breakfast was continental but more... More

Good service and very welcoming on arrival. Helpful giving insight into we're to visit in Franschhoek and relaxing courtyard around the pool. Rooms provide all you need and clean, though is a little of a tight squeeze in the bathroom between shower and toilet in room we had. Recommend staying if in the town as great location and value compared... More

We decided to book and stay at Realou two days prior to arriving and what a good choice! It is very well located and in a quiet street close to popular restaurants and shops. Upon arrival, Innocent (our host), welcomed us very warmly and made us feel right at home. He immediately offered us drinks and proceeded to explain to... More

Phone them directly as we got a cheaper deal than even lastminute.com was offering. Innocent was looking after us and was a great asset, took time to give us recommendations etc. Rooms were lovely apart from the odd cockroach!

Many thanks for the favourable review except it would have been better if you had identified the difference between Cochroaches and Crickets. Crickets are the ones that rub their hind legs together and make a chirping noise. Currently we have many crickets in the village around this time of the year. You can read more about Crckets Cochroaches and Franschhoek... More

This guesthouse was really nice. They had a nice garden with a pool and a nice terass available for everyone. The staff was really helpful and warm. we got upgraded to a better room because they thought we had to little space in ours, which was very thoughtful. We will surely stay there again if we travel to Franschhoek again.

We had a fantastic two nights in this charming place; everything about the guesthouse was spot on - beautifully and interestingly decorated - perfect welcome - wonderful suite - delicious breakfasts. The rooms were well separated from each other - some in individual cottages - so the atmosphere was quiet and restful. Fantastic pool in the garden! Probably the best... More

It is a wonderfull guesthouse. People are very helpfull and pay attention for your interests. It is located quite close to the middle of the village, so that you can make everything by foot. Only itim is that it is no winery, so that you have to take a car to go there
