Lekkerwjin is a beautiful colonial house in need of some renovations, in a strategic position (halfway between Franschoek and Stellenbosh and close to some of the best wineyards in the area -check absolutely Solms and Delta). We stayed in the Owl Corner, on the first floor, 2 bedroom and one bathroom. Overall we were satisfied though from the website we... More

Thank you for staying with us. We enjoyed looking after your family at Lekkerwijn. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay overall and that you especially liked the location. We acknowledge that Lekkerwijn is an historic property and will seem different to modern, purpose built hotels. We are happy to offer a different experience. We are a little disappointed... More

Exciting experience with Peter Hall (Manager). He went the extra mile with making us feel at home and we had a very pleasant stay. We enjoyed a great weekend, the staff was friendly and helpful and the unexpected visit by a peacock in the courtyard was an extra treat. Castle the dog was gorgeous. Loved all the antiques. Thanks Peter... More

Simon (owner) was fantastic at welcoming us despite our unexpected late arrival, and in making recommendations for restaurants and things to do in Franschhoek during our stay and this truly made our visit memorable. The accommodation is simple but clean and comfortable - don't expect the mod cons, you're staying in a piece of history. Highly recommended!!

The house is beautiful, the setting peaceful. Peter the manager was great, he always seemed to be around at the right moment to answer a question, organise cabs, get a suit pressed and suggest places to go. For a group of friends having a common area to meet in was good, with access to a fridge and glasses, very important... More

We enjoyed a great weekend at Lekkerwijn but it was really made enjoyable by Peter Hall the manager, the staff and especially Castle the dog. The self catering rooms are 3 Star in a very old building so don't go there expecting a Sun City décor etc. The inside rooms are 4 star.Go to relax and enjoy and discover how... More

It is difficult to know where to start with this review. Simon was the perfect host. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like part of the family. He helped us with tips on where and how to visit local attractions (e.g. Boschendal, Lynx winerie) and in no time we felt at home. Thoroughly recommended for couples,... More

I would recommend Lekkerwijn for families. It is perfectly situated in the triangle between Franschoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl, next to Vinyard Boschendaal, where you can get the best Fresh Bread! We stayed in the both the WineCellar and the Ballroom Cottage. Both cottages are huge and neat. The Animals give the special touch to this place. Our son liked especially the... More

I would highly recommend Lekkerwijn. The owners were lovely people and could not have made our stay better. They helped us find nice restaurants and places to go and were generally just fabulous. It is excellently placed next to a really good wine farm and the vistas are stunning. This is a lovely heritage property and I loved it.

Lekkerwijn is exceptional. It is an extraordinary historic cape dutch farm house and feels like a piece of living history. It is not the over manicured type of guest house you find so often in the Western Cape, it is a beautiful house which has huge character and is a pleasure to stay in. But more importantly the owner Simon... More
