we had only one night booked here as part of our road trip along the Cape. What a mistake! From the greeting as we arrived to the wave as we left it was perfect. We had a 'shiraz' room, lovely decor, comfy bed and great views. Breakfast was delightful - the best egg florentine in a long time. We ended... More

The Mont Rochelle resort was the second stop on our magnificent honeymoon in South Africa. Seven months on, my wife and I still have some amazing memories of our time there and thought it about time we wrote a review! We arrived soon after renovations were completed at the beginning of the Southern Hemisphere spring and were treated like honoured... More

We didn't realise that the hotel had recently been taken over by Richard Branson. Presumably why all was newly and expensively refurbished - in the best possible taste! Our "Cabernet Room" was fantastic, with giant bed looking straight out towards breathtaking views of the mountains - unforgettable. I don't think I've ever known a better designed bedroom. If you get... More

We stayed at Mont Rochelle on the first stage of our trip to South Africa, celebrating our Silver and Golden wedding anniversaries. It is a beautiful place. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were lovely, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. In fact, unusually for us, we relaxed in to our holiday the moment we arrived. The food was... More

We booked before the hotel had been taken over - I'm not sure we would have booked otherwise. I have no experience of Virgin but I would have thought it couldn't have a boutique feel to it. It does!! Imagine being able to stay a couple of days in Richard Brandson's personal wine estate country house - this is the... More

Spent three days at Mont Rochelle and can only say I wish we'd had longer. The surroundings are absolutely amazing and think we spent most of our day just looking at the views! On arrival we were met by the duty manager - Peter! What an amazing guy he was. Made us feel so welcome during our stay and was... More

This hotel had recently been taken over by Richard Branson. Fantastic welcome, food was great but service although we'll meaning was a bit random. The rooms/suites are state of the art but rather surprisingly have no drawers for clothes storage and our suite only had one chair! The surroundings are lovely and given notice a car will meet you in... More

Serendipitously a friend and I ended up here for what we thought was a spa experience and lunch, but ended up being much more. The wine tasting was excellent and informative. The spa experience (facial and massage) was outstanding. The view from the restaurant was something else, and the food was very good. What really made the visit outstanding was... More

Looking for a really special place to dine, then is a stunning option. The staff is very well trained, not snooty. If you appreciate a beautifully decorated environment, this restaurant will stimulate your creative side. The modern and friendly colours boast style. Fine dining is what you will find on your plate. I had line fish and an interesting take... More
