This was the first time I have been back since Sir Richard Branson bought Mont Rochelle and I am pleased to say it is just as lovely. Ambiance : modern amenities, colonial charm and amazing views over Franschhoek. The Miko restaurant has sublime views from a great majority of the tables as well as a very comfortable veranda. Food and... More

We took Australian guests to the new casual restaurant which is down a bumpy gravel road not even in the hotel area. Very hot inside. Reasonable food. Hardly anyone there. No view to speak about. Wine choice is restricted to the iffy Mont Rochelle brand and there is no beer. Not an international class place by any means. We would... More

What a treat to stay here. Wonderful views & perfect location. Large bedrooms with stunning huge bathrooms. Great swimming pool with loungers, suntan lotion & iced water with lemon available. Spa is expensive for SA citizens. Wine cellar does wine tasting & has a super country style restaurant there.

Visited for a meal one evening while staying locally in Franschoek. The hotel has a unique charm and the staff are very welcoming. Food was good but not exceptional, the sort that looked better than it ultimately tasted. Drinks and food alike were very very pricey by South African standards. Overall I felt this was overly-catered towards overseas visitors which... More

A very special day and occasion was rescued by the very friendly and professional staff at Hotel Mont Rochelle after we were severely lead down by another venue. It turned out to be an experience of a lifetime at Month Rochelle as the staff went more than an extra mile to make it an unforgettable day. We felt like the... More

Firstly the setting of the property is absolutely stunning on a hill overlooking the town and surrounding mountains. It has recently been renovated to a very high standard and has been decorated beautifully! When we visited it was fairly quiet, probably because it only re-opened so recently but it was a treat to feel like we had the place to... More

Pleasant service, syrah and cabernet sauvignion are produced in the european style with french oak.nthe whites are surprisingly fresh almost like new zealanders, great view on stellenbosch. The restaurant is in a charming farm house style, which will be a suitable venue also for dining.

We came back here once more because this is one of the most beautiful hotels we know and have had the pleasure to stay in. We stayed for half our visit in a quite stunning Suite with its own garden area and plunge pool. The place is immaculate and so is the service - everyone is always willing to please... More

This is a special place and as soon as you arrive you'll understand why Richard Branson bought it. We stayed here on our honeymoon and whilst this is technically a 4 star hotel, I'm not sure what else you could want. The hotel is gorgeous and full of character, but still with all the modern amenities you could want (underfloor... More

Booked for dinner and this experience was made even better when Richard Branson walked in and was dining!! Recently renovated to fall in line with a "Richard Branson" hotel. Food excellent, staff attentive (Peter has the best smile) and views to die for. Highly recommend!
