We spent two nights here. We usually stay at The Last Word but thought we'd ring the changes this year. The hotel is spotless, beautifully decorated with a very welcoming feel. The staff are genuinely pleased to see you. Our bedroom was No 8 and it really was beautiful. Very comfy beds, wonderful bathroom and everything you could possibly want.... More

My husband and I stayed two nights here in the middle of our 2-week honeymoon in South Africa and Kenya. This hotel had all the amenities but we weren't there long enough to take advantage of most of them! The complimentary breakfasts were really nice, though! We also ate at the Tasting Room one night (I did separate review of... More

We had a wonderful stay at Le Quartier - it was everything we wanted it to be. Our room was spacious (a two bedroom unit by the pool), we had a plunge pool of our own, perfect layout for a family, the staff could not have been more helpful (booking activities for us that we really could have done ourselves,... We were 4 at the table and it was weird not to all be given the same food on the tasting 'menu'. 2 got one thing and two another--totally different!? The wine pairing was also different, as it would be I suppose but is it supposed to be a different experience to your companion diners? We may have missed the... More

We stayed here 2 nights on our honeymoon and wish we could've stayed longer. Gorgeous grounds. Huge, beautiful room in the "French Quarter." The staff went above and beyond...from the front desk, to the restaurant and our sweet butler. The location was perfect to wander around town as well as catch the wine train. I definitely recommend you stay here... More

We really enjoyed our stay here with our three months old son. While the hotel has no specific children's facilities we felt very welcome and the concierge made so much effort to make sure we had everything from booking us a picnic to ensuring dining in options and movies were delivered to our suite when we didn't feel like going... Me and my wife had a positive experience of this hotel overall. We stayed here 10 years ago and it was probably better then but we enjoyed our stay this time. I like the layout of the rooms around the courtyard and pool but understand why some people feel it's a bit intrusive. We had a huge room called the... More

The room was very pleasant but you do have to keep nets closed because hotel guests and staff are walking past ! On arriving I noticed the granite in bathroom had not been cleaned - there were glass marks plus a few hairs on the floor! Ok that was rectified next day but quite surprising ( I checked the sheets)!... More

Dear LindzD019, Thank you very much for the time you have taken to write this review. The privacy of some of our ground floor rooms and noise of the air conditioners has been bought to our attention and we have plans to address this in our upcoming annual closure. We pride ourselves on the luxury and cleanliness of our rooms... More

Really enjoyed out dinner at Le Quartier Francais. Of all the fine dining we did in South Africa, this set menu was the most “African” one when it comes to flavours and colours. Lovely staff. Would recommend it.

A lovely stay for a couple of days. The weather was superb so we relaxed at the pool and ordered our light lunch to there. What a nice treat, in the afternoon a waitress came round the pool with a fresh fruit ice lolly which was infused with all sorts of herbs and ginger, delicious. The surroundings of the property...
