I was one of the very fortunate people who had the plessure of dinning in the Tasting room with a friend from scotland. It was by far the best cullinary experiance i have had in South Africa. We were welcomed by a very humble, well mannerd, friendly team. The sevice was out of this world, the knowledge that the waiters had was outstanding,They knew... more

We did not enjoy any of the food here. We ordered ribeye which was fillet when it came, no explanation given We ordered a dish with truffle. When it came it did not smell or taste of truffle so we sent it back and asked for some. It came back very salty. The waiter argued that the chef had put... more

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Four Quarters for three nights and it was absolutely fabulous. We were welcomed by superb staff that catered to our every need. The room was lovely with the pool only a few steps away, perfect for relaxing after a long flight from New York. Our experience in the Tasting room was one to... more

We are on our first visit to South AFrica and this is our second hotel - stayed in Cape Town but have fallen in love with Franschhoek. The hotel is wonderful, staff could not have been more helpful went out of their way to make reservations for us and spoil us and one felt they really wanted to do it... more

We had an exceptional experience at Le Quartier...we were booked in the "Cottage" which is behind the main building. We were with our two teenage daughters, and the cottage was one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed in: 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, two living rooms, large gourmet kitchen, small private swimming pool. Lovely service; outstanding food. more

I have travelled extensively and I still find that the most spectacular place to stay is just 1 hour from my doorstep. Le Quartier Francais has everything: beautiful rooms, a tranquil setting, charming staff, impossible to leave alone food and that little something extra. This year is their 20th birthday and as such they're got a whole host of amazing... more

I do share some of the views expressed by other reviewers on this hotel. It was a very nice hotel but not quite up to the billing it gets. The restaurants, both ICI and the Tasting Room, we found to be superb - no complaints at all, a great experience but the accommodation was somewhat lacking and as a result... more

Overall, it is the place to stay if in Franschhoek. An upscale country style hotel, with a very well maintained garden and swimming pool. Value for money though, we think it’s too expensive for what you get (we paid ZAR 3900) Location: In the center of the village, walking distance to shops and other restaurants. Room: we stayed in a... more

Snugly tucked away behind the pleasant beauty of Franshhoek's main street lies an absolute oasis of perfection in service ,accomodation, staff, food and great wines. It is Le Quartier Francais. We spent a long weekend end in this superb Auberge, from arrival to departure every moment was a pleasure of friendly knowledgeable staff, who just loved to make you at... more

We spent 3 fantastic nights at LQF in November. From the moment we checked in to the moment we left, the staff at this hotel looked after us and were very pleasant. We found that they will go out of their way to accomodate any request. We had huge room on the upper floor, overlooking the pool. The beds were... more
