We recently visited Le Quartier Francais as part of our honeymoon trip and our two night experience in this beautiful venue was one of the highlights of our holiday. The moment we arrived we were greeted by hotel manager Roger who upgraded us to one of the Four Quarter suites, a stunning suite nestled in a private courtyard with just... More

We stayed at LQF for 5 nights in a delightful room fronting onto the quadrangle of gardens and swimming pool. The view of the mountains is beautiful. We found the breakfasts to be very good, and the informal eatery serving excellent wine and tapas was perfect. The Tasting Rooms is an outstanding experience (reviewed separately). Laundry was prompt if a... More

We recently stayed for 3 nights in a petite garden suite, which had it's own lovely private garden. The accommodation is built around a beautiful central pool which is camouflaged by all the greenery and colourful shrubs and affords privacy to both the rooms and the pool area. The mountains from a glorious backdrop. Our room was very well appointed... More

We stayed 2 nights in a petite garden suite. The room was nice, relatively spacious and with a good comfy bed. The bathroom was quite narrow but had a bit of a smell to it, like the drains needed cleaned. However I think what the biggest let down for us was this "garden", which looked even less kept than our... More

Second stay here, following multiple stays in the area, and it didn't quite work, perhaps because we had just come from a place that was perfect. Staff though helpful didn't seem very happy in their job, The Tasting Room though technically good food wasn't an explosion of flavours and the pairing of wine very ordinary.catering for specific requests ie only... What a wonderful and special place, fantastic location, wonderful and spacious room with detailed amenities. We enjoyed the signature restaurant for a wine-paired dinner with attention to the locality in terms or inspiration and provenance of produce, although do be careful that they are generous with wine service and it could take the equilibrium of many by surprise. The informal... More

Le Quartier Francais is situated in the Cape wine country. It is about one hour from Cape Town. The hotel is fabulous. Unassuming from the outside, it is luxurious inside. The rooms where I stayed are two stories. The ground floor is an entryway, while the upstairs has the sitting room and bed. Four Windows look out to a well... More

My husband and I stayed here as the start of our trip thru South Africa, and what a wonderful place to start. We arrived at 11:00 pm on a Friday night and one of the managers was outside to greet us. He personally brought our bags to our room and made sure we were comfortable, offering to start a fire... More

We were upgraded to a quarters room, which had separate living room and bedroom areas along with a stocked bar. We had windows on four sides and a nice terrace outside our room. What really puts this place over the top is the Tasting Room, where we had one of the most creative, beautiful, and delicious dinners ever.

The other reviews say it all, but I specially enjoyed the cocktails and tapas at the bar. The bar manager is a very efficient and friendly lady - we enjoyed going there for a drink almost every night.
