Wonderful time spent at Basse Provence , five star treatment , beautiful rooms and the most excellent breakfast looking out at the mountains . Where else can you swim watching Ostriches ? The perfect place from which to explore Franschhoek 's wines and restaurants .

Given what was designated as the honeymoon suite. The bed was separated into twin beds for us. The room was upstairs directly under the thatch roof. As it is an old building there were extra supporting struts. The only way that I could get in out of my bed was via the end of the bed. This would have held... More

We stayed here for 1 night, it was a charming guest house. There were 8 of us so we had a cottage and 2 double rooms, all to a very good standard. Amazing views surround the property and they have a great wee swimming pool. Breakfast was great, continental and cooked breakfast available. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Would... More

This is a fantastic B&B. The employees and manager were very pleasant and helpful, the setting stunning and the breakfasts were superb (especially the continental). As we were travelling with another couple, we stayed in the cottage, which was perfect. Although slightly outside town, it's a nice 30 min walk into town during the day, and a short taxi ride... We booked this guest house last minute without any research and were very plesantly surprised to have struck gold! It is situated on the main road into Franschhoek, only a short drive from the main village. We were greeted by the lovely Janine who made us feel like old friends within minutes and showed us to our room in the... More

An old Dutch colonial type building with separate cottages dotted round. We stayed in the main building, upstairs. I've never seen anything quite like it before. We were in the thatched roof area. It had recently been re thatched, if that is the correct term. There were loft beams around adding to the ambience. My husband is 6 feet tall... More

Lovely clean and spacious accommodation. The breakfasts was really good and all the staff was so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay. Definitely value for money! Very central accommodation very close to town almost in town. We recommend Basse Provence.

A lovely little guest house. Our room had an entrance of its own and was delightful and very spacious. The staff were helpful and went out of their way booking cabs and making dinner reservations. Sherry and port were made available in the lounge and made a wonderful pre dinner apéritif. The guesthouse is 3km outside of Franschhoek and a... More

Very happy with our overnight stay here. Staff very friendly, helpful and genuinely welcoming. The manor house was really lovely and homely. We had Manor room 1 and I would highly recommend it, a very spacious room with a huge bathroom and a lovely bath tub to lie in and watch the stars. Generous amounts of tea and coffee, a... More

The very friendly domestic staff are the best thing about this place. All else is just below average for the area - small things incl only UHT milk, no olive oil (in an olive oil region?) Much better options out there. As regulars to Franschheok we would not return here.
