We didn't stay, only tried the wines. Susan educated us on the delicious wines available. We really enjoyed the Reserve Semillon and the 2010 Shiraz. Apart from the delicious wine, Susan is a delight and is well versed in the great wines. I am enjoying a Shiraz as we speak.

This place is very special, lovely views over the vineyards and mountains. It feels like you live there rather than are styling there. Great rooms and very charming. The restaurant has a new chef so the vineyard is now busier, I live this place and will certainly stay here again, thank you Shani and a great team

I recently spent two days at Rickety Bridge Manor House. The en-suite room in the ground floor was very luxury with classic Cape Dutch furniture.A lot of space, nice bedroom, living room, bathroom and apart of this a large lounge with free available Port and Sherry.Breakfast at the pool very good,as was the lunch and the wine.Try their Chenin Blanc! The only objection is very... Having dined at Rickety Bridge two years ago, we stayed at the Manor House for three nights this February. A great experience, sleeping under a roof of blue Gum poles, and thatch, in a wonderful old Dutch/Afrikaner house, on a lovely little Wine Estate. A splendid restaurant for luncheons (Evening meals unfortunately only made Wednesday to Friday or Saturday), and... More

We stayed in the Manor House for 2 nights, very comfortable and spacious rooms, we were upstairs and so made use of the huge lounge. The breakfast provided was delicious and we also enjoyed a very tasty lunch and wine tasting while we were there. We did the half day tour of the wine farms which was excellent, some of... More

This was our second visit to Rickerty Bridge. The Manor House is situated next to the restaurant and wine tasting venue. There are only three rooms, which are spacious. The top two, we were in one of them, are upstairs under the thatch roof. Downstairs is the breakfast room and a lovely large lounge. There is a very calm and... More

Four of us had a wonderful stay in the Rickety Bridge Winery in Franschhoek. The hotel is genuinely old, and is furnished accordingly, but has all the mod-cons, including a pool. Shani, the hotel manager, was very helpful with booking us into local restaurants and arranging transport to / from them. We had a tour of the winery and a... More

Thank you to Klarisa and Shani and all the many other team members - Millicent, Jeremiah, Martha, etc - who helped to make our wedding as perfect as it was. Rickety Bridge was the perfect venue, everything looked absolutely fabulous with the ceremony on the lawn in front of the manor house, the jacaranda tree in full bloom, and the... More

This quaintly named Vineyard is modern but well covered by the tourist buses. We used the Wine Tram to get there and enjoyed the ride from the tram station drop off in the back of a converted truck, the wine tasting well presented even if the wines we had were not the best we had sampled in the area. We... More

Many thanks for your review of Rickety Bridge and the new Franschhoek Wine Tram. We are very glad that you enjoyed the experience and hope we will see you back again before too long. I would like to apologise for the time it took for your cheese platter to arrive and I will investigate and ensure this does not happen... More

If you want a special lunch, get the tram out of Franschhoek and eat at Rickety Bridge. Have a wine tasting first then eat. We had the pork belly and Ceasar salad followed by Karoo lamb chops and Rib eye steak. We also had their Merlot wine which complemented the meal very well. Make sure you are served by Jeremiah...
