This camp is stunning in how quiet it is and with the most amazing views down on the river bed and water hole which is always active with animals. The sounds at night from various animals moving around is the best way to fall asleep. This camp runs off solar panels so has no fans or cooling system so can... More

Also our second stay in this camp, again staying in the (only) honeymoon tent (having a double bed), the kitchen is in a seperate tent and you've got a large terrace. As an accomodation in Kgagalagadi this must be the best we had by far, well maintained, clean, everything still working and an excellent camp manager whom came by a... More

I love this camp, we were so lucky when we checked in the manager said he needed to check it was safe as a huge male lion had been just outside our tent. He came down with us and allowed us to move in with the lion watching and snoozing right next to the patio. Several of the staff came... More

Have travelled extensively through southern Africa's game parks, this was our best camp experience. The chalet-style tents are very comfortable and well laid out. Furthermore, they are spaced quite far apart which ensures privacy and most overlook a fairly active waterhole. Kenneth, the camp supervisor who was extremely pleasant, ensured our wellbeing through frequent visits while the small pool was... More

We moved to Kalahari Tented Camp after a terrible stay at Mata Mata. The camp is stunning, well managed and Jan Neels the camp manager gone out of his way to make our stay the best in the park. We were in #15 - it was very private - not directly overlooking the waterhole but still could see it -... More

What it means to stay in an unfenced wilderness camp we witnessed one morning when a lion laid in front of our unit! He was relaxed but for us it felt a little bit bizarre. In the evening the same lion walked along the camp road to find a better place for the night. Amazing experience! The Kalahari tented camp... More

We stayed here for 2 non consecutive nights in October. We were a small party of 3 rooms. The first night we stayed in rooms 3,12 and 15. We were given permission to drive between them to be able to cook and eat together. Our friend in 15 was told there was a male lion that had slept under one... More

Spent two nights here. Its not as wild as the other wilderness camps but very well appointed. We had a huge thunder storm and it was nice to be able to sit in the kitchen looking out of the window. The tent got rather flooded the rain was so heavy but we mopped up. It was very hot before the... More

We have been to the Tented Camp twice and on both occasions we left slightly disappointed. Be aware that not all the tents do have a proper view onto the waterhole. The waterhole is in any case quite some distance away from the tents. The close proximity to Mata Mata comes in quite handy though when one runs out of... More

For some unidentifiable reason, we found this to be the best of our three very nice sets of accommodations in Kgalagadi. This was a great place to spend our last evening, as it is only 3 km from Mata Mata gate, yet we still had the sense of being in the wilderness. The sleeping quarters and kitchen are in separate...
