If you don't want to self-cater, this is a nice all inclusive lodge, at reasonable rates. No contact with the outside world, fantastic clear skies ( and a telescope to look at them, good food and quiet.

We had the pleasure of stay at Xaus Lodge during a fairly long visit to Africa. The cabins were nice and the various nature walks and drives were great. While coming back after a sundowner drive we witnessed a pride of lines take down a small deer, right next to our vehicle. It was the highlight of our trip. The... More

Xaus Lodge is run very efficiently by Richard and Nola and their fantastic staff. The Lodge is extremely remote and miles away from the main road and other camps. The food was outstanding and at times hard to believe that such amazing dishes were served in such a remote place. Nothing was too much trouble for any staff member and... More

We spent a night at !Xaus in April 2014. The overall impression was that the lodge needs a bit of a shake-up. The rates are very pricey - and I honestly don't think it was worth the money spent. The drive to the lodge over the 91 sand dunes was awesome, the night drive and early morning walk was spectacular... More

Thank you for the review. We are so pleased that there was so much to be enjoyed at the Lodge. It is always a challenge when guests stay for one night only because it's so hard to relax enough after the dune road before you are back on it again! We agree that the Lodge needs TLC and are currently... More

We spent two wonderful days at !Xaus. It was very special to be introduced into Kalahari Nature by local bushmen - explaining very much about nature and how bushmen lived "in the older days" in this environement. We felt two nights is an ideal period - the program that is included in the price is perfect for 2 nights. Having... More

Thank you for the review, and we are very pleased that you enjoyed your experience with us. It is particularly pleasing to see that you have a good understanding of the dramatic impact of the remoteness, and that you enjoyed meeting the people of this isolated part of the Kalahari. More

We stayed for two nights and enjoyed the overall stay. The Lodge is far away from main stream tourism and already the 4x4 dune ride to the Lodge is a nice experience. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Manager was very friendly, welcoming and informative. Nature Drives were nice. As we travelled with a small child every care was taken that... More

We recently spent two nights at !Xaus. Although it was not our first experience in an African Safari lodge it was our first visit to this part of the world and this sort of climate. The room was comfortable and clean. Although we had trouble with the hot water for our shower everything else was in working order. The food... More

Thank you so much for writing the review and it's great to hear that the team in the kitchen were able to get things right for your teenager. One gets an idea straight away about the remoteness of this place from its address. Dune 91, Off Aoub River Road, Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park! The rugged beauty of this area is remarkable. One needs to see beyond the game to appreciate !Xaus. Don't expect abundant herds of animals, or frequent sightings of predators. They are there of course, but not... More
