This is a typical African lodge. The service was fair, the rooms basic, but comfortable. The restaurant food was really good, but do meat! We plan to go back in three months, the Kalahari is awesome. Having a barbecue under a well lit milky way is what life is all about and let's not forget the beautiful sunrise and sunset's

My family and I love the Kalahari. During our last road trip we had the opportunity to pay a fourth visit to the Molopo Kalahari Lodge. This is, for me, the gateway into the Kalahari and has very much become a part of our visits to area. On previous occasions we have used the accommodation offered which have always been... More

This family resort, just 60km from Kgalagadi is the ideal stop over before entering the park. It is rustic, relaxed and has three pools. Book in cabins 1 & 2 or 9 & 10 to be close to the plunge pools which will be just outside your door. Dinner offers a variety, but go for the game steaks. Breakfast has... More

Our first room was completely unsuitable for self catering. The next was more equipped, with a very comfortable bed & a great shower, close to the camping area. But we had to ask for toilet paper & towels, & the double door latch was broken. Breakfast was tired. Will book in down the road next time

Camped at Molopo with my friends. Five star restaurant and bar with most friendly and accomodating staff. Chalets seems to be luxurious and spacious with aircons. Each campsite has own braai, table and ablution. Will recommend for camping or self cater.

We camped there, and it was nice and comfortable. Ablutions were perfect and the facilities were fantastic. Pool was clean and nicely refreshing on the hot day. Breakfast was a little slow but overall the food was great The Pans nearby provided some great entertainment and sight seeing too

We were booked in a room that has not been renovated. The room was comfortable but the towels and linen were old and well-used. One of the beds in the room had a 3/4 mattress on a single base - this resulted in discomfort throughout the night. Its a place to put down your head after a long drive -... More

With half a dozen new establishments in the Kalahari to choose from, Molopo's old school charm still does it for me. They're currently renovating ( long overdue) the bathrooms of the one row of chalets, and dust and sand creeps in everywhere. The gardens are so well established that it becomes the real draw card. Breakfast enjoyed on the verandah... More

Clean rooms, nice creative restaurant and a bar that tells a story. Only thing that bothered me was that the rooms are too close to one another. I could hear everything what the people next door are chatting about. But a thumbs up from me love the peaceful atmosphere and friendly staff.

When last did you get up at 3H30 in the morning, after you'd been to a wedding, and been on the road for at least 10 hours. Exactly, few people have or would dare to. We did. My aching bones rejoiced when we stopped at the Molopo Lodge en-route to Botswana last month. The place was abuzz with weary travelers... More
