Clean rooms, nice creative restaurant and a bar that tells a story. Only thing that bothered me was that the rooms are too close to one another. I could hear everything what the people next door are chatting about. But a thumbs up from me love the peaceful atmosphere and friendly staff.

When last did you get up at 3H30 in the morning, after you'd been to a wedding, and been on the road for at least 10 hours. Exactly, few people have or would dare to. We did. My aching bones rejoiced when we stopped at the Molopo Lodge en-route to Botswana last month. The place was abuzz with weary travelers... More

Not our first time to this very unique gem. Your last stop before the Kgalagadi Park. Nice restaurant, chalets, and the oh so famous bar!!!! Must ride the saddle and donkey chart in the bar, and enjoy some knater-water. Petrol, diesel, and other stuff available from the shop. Enjoy...

Having driven from Uppington on the way to the Kgalagadi park we camped at this amazingly atmospheric lodge. The campsites are nice with their own shade and power. More surprising though was the sincere helpfulness of the staff. This lodge is a long way from anywhere and obviously has very busy times and quiet periods. This is a very relaxing... More

Having spent a night some time back at the Lodge, I thought another review fitting just to say thanks for the friendliness of the staff and the lovely setting. I will make a point of returning and will stay at the lodge. The drive from Upington is hot and the road filled with wide open spaces on either side. We're... More

Arrived late without a booking and the owner Ryno Lambrecht could not do enough for my wife and I to make us feel welcome and to settle in after a very very long day on the road. Woke up the next morning early to go and sit on a dune just outside the lodge to watch the amazing Kalahari sunrise... More

I booked 4 rooms for 4 couples as a stopover after 8 days in Kgalagadi. When we arrived, there was no booking for us as I had booked for the following night by mistake and there was only accommodation for 2 couples still available for the day we arrived. The owner went out of his way to shuffle rooms and he... More

It's not Ritzy but makes up for that in friendliness: we'd accidentally booked 3 rooms instead of 1 but that was no problem. Very good location for a one-day visit to the Kalahari. Rooms were clean, service okay. The "enormous portions" in the restaurant were much too big for us, and the food in itself was nothing special. It's hard... More

Having driven from Cape Town, we were looking forward to staying at Molopo. The web site looked so inviting. We arrived at 3h30pm to hear loud music blaring out of the pub and some rowdy drinkers. It should have been a warning - one staggered out of the pub & fell into the nearby bushes blind drunk. The rowdy revellers... More

Last week we stopped over during a business trip and were really pleasantly surprised at the quality of food and the setting of the lodge. I wondered how in the middle of nowhere and 200kms from the nearest town so many small things were added and available at such a remote setting. The gardens are very well kept, it was... More
