We had a great stay at Granny Dot's. Joyce and Richard are very friendly en hospitable. We had a warm welcome and a good dinner. They have a great garden and an inhouse pub! Our room had a excellent view and was very big. Unfortunately we spend here just one night. We love to come back some day!

We stayed four nights and enjoyed every minute ! Joyce en Richard really take care of you. Breakfast and dinners were superb. Before dinner we had every day a 15 -30 minutes talk with Joyce and Richard and other guests in the bar to enjoy a drink and to share our experiences of that day. Not only tourists visited Granny... Wow - we just returned home from our short weekend at Granny Dot's and we were very sad to leave. Beautiful views all around - mountains with lush vegetation, abundant bird-life and lovely hosts who run the place. We turned up very unprepared after our rush out of Johannesburg and forgot the basics such as milk and bread (we were... More

We stayed at Granny Dot's on our way back from the Kruger Park and can highly recommend it. Wonderful views, lovely rooms, delicious breakfasts and dinners, quaint pub, and most important of all, the delightful hosts, Joyce and Richard, who made our stay perfect. We will definitely stay there again! Wendy and Ray Cape Town

When we arrived in this location we were welcomed by three dogs. When the owner finally arrived we were asked: "do you like dogs?" we replied with a "no" the answer was: "you came to the wrong place". The room was very average and perhaps even the worst we had during our trip in SA. Unfortunately the room smelled like... More

Beautiful view over the mountains! Very nice couple that runs the place. We asked for dinner as Granny Dot is out of the way, the food was nicely prepared, very homely. The breakfast was also very homely. The rooms was clean.

Coming from a round trip we booked Granny Dots as a stop-over to the Panorama route - we could not have chosen better. Joyce and Richard welcomed us very friendly and showed us there paradise - located on a corner of a hill - with a magnificent 180-degrees-view. The way to the guest house is not the best (forest track)... More

Located approx 15km outside of Tzaneen with a wonderful view over the landscape. The owners (Richard and Joyce) are very friendly and hospitable. Dinner and breakfast excellent, nice little bar with good selection of drinks 2.5km to drive from the tar-road, on a downhill soil street. Not a problem for ordinary cars with normal ground clearance, but motorbikes must be... More

This is a really nice place to stay on your way to Kruger Park. It is a little bit far from Tzaneen, in terms of road conditions, but totally worth it. The owners Richard and Joyce are so friendly and they immidiately make you feel at home. For a very nice price you can have diner there and listen to... More

Granny Dot's is a charming house well away from the main road. Be prepared to go through a sand road with lots of potholes, but once there, Richard and Judith were charming hosts. We had not realised that we would be so far away from other places and had not booked a meal, we arrived just after 6 and when... More
