We spend three days at the Cathkin Cottages where Leila, the owner made us feel at home. The location is fantastic as it is very safe and has proximity to many hiking and activity places in the Central Berg. The lounge in her B&B is so cosy and made our evenings very pleasant, while our children could watch some movies... More

A beautifull place, great breakfast and perfect location. We just loved the bathroom. It had everything we needed. We had dinner in the hotel just 500meter from the B&B. Great views there as well! Tip: The adres is not in the GPS system, so don't forget to bring the GPS Coordinates stated on you booking reverance.

Not just a B&B but a huge covered lounge filled with squashy sofas, a pool and lots of indoor space. It was like having your own house. It is so obvious that the owner is an interior designer. We had a comfortable room and were given a varied and good breakfast each day. It is very peaceful here and it... More

We could not have asked for a better place to stay for our very first experience in the Drakensberg. Even after looking at all the hotels in the area, my fiance and I concluded that we chose the BEST accommodation. The most divine breakfast every morning and our room was beautiful & always clean. Leila, thanks for giving us one of... More

The room I stayed in had a small panel heater that didn't do anything to keep the room warm. There was someone's old underwear in the cupboard, yet no extra blankets. The owner chastised us for not washing our own dishes which we assumed was the b&bs responsibility (who wants to be washing dishes when on holiday?). She also told... More

We enjoyed a delightful weekend in this well- run, well - appointed cottage. Breakfasts on the terrace were excellent, and the setting is magnificent. We particularly enjoyed the fact that we could walk to the restaurants and pub at the Drakensberg Sun, and from there continue walking into the Berg. Leila and Roy were most welcoming and tolerant of the... More

I was so impressed by the hospitality at Cathkin Cottage. We called our host (Leila) on the morning drive down from Joburg and she agreed to have our room ready when we arrived even though it was 3 hours before normal check-in. She also allowed us a late check-out so we could shower after zip-lining the morning of our departure.... More

So we naturally had a wonderful time here at this little bed and breakfast around the corner from the drak sun. As an ex pat it pleases me to come home to me what is truly home, and that is an African and white lady running a very homely establishment. Laughs, love and humour and a very tasty brekkie all... We went to Cathkin Cottage in the Champagne valley for an overnight stay to enjoy activities and nature in Drakensberg. I am very happy to say that this place has been the perfect one so far and is on the top of my list of 'Places to stay' in South Africa. Leila's perfection in making this place a perfect get-away...
