We stayed 2 nights at Giants Castle camp. From the reception to the chalet, we were impressed. The management cared and you could feel it. Breakfast is included and was very enjoyable. the chalets were well appointed for self catering. There is no oven but a large microwave with convection oven and outside braai. Our chalet had a mountain view... More

Recently spent two nights on a group tour at Giant's Castle camp, surrounded by the most magnificent scenery, interesting and challenging walks, beautiful cave paintings - a great place to be. Unfortunately the camp itself leaves a lot to be desired - uneven, damaged camp roads, with many of the lights supposed to be illuminating them not working, making night... More

Bushman Paintings, Main Cave,  Giants Castle, central Drakensberg   there is a walk of about 2km odd from the rest camp and back to reach the main cave so go early if you need to rest between, walk can be rather steep at parts, and does cover terrain not suitable for Prams so take carrier.  (And water!) But definitely worth... More

We never stayed here but did visit the restaurant for lunch while visiting the nature reserve. The location at the very edge of an escarpment is awesome. The view outside takes your breath away. After that the decor and food, both excellent, are almost inconsequential. We made a mental note to stay at the resort if we ever visit that... More

We have just spent the most awesome weekend at Giants Castle with a group of friends. The staff are an amazing bunch, we had a problem with having no water on Friday evening, we phoned the number listed and within a few minutes, had a delightful lady by the name of Khanyo who came to our chalet and told us... I would have given 5 stars if the road wasn't in such a terrible state. Watch out for the potholes! Make sure you have enough time to do some hiking, there are a couple of beautiful routes. We did one of the shorter routes and saw quite a lot of game while we walked.

South Africa got beauty, winter experience at the Berg was a delight. Other than winter snow, expected very little from Giant Castle reserve. Didn't even know it was a 30,000 plus hectares big. Chalets are spacious & well furnished, with shower/bath, lounge area, fireplace & kitchen appliances. Scenic views overlooking mountain range are splendid. Especially enjoyed many picnic spots along... More

We stayed in Chalet 30 which has the most divine view of the valley and the mountains. The accommodation was simple whilst clean and neat and not overly priced. Food in the restaurant was wholesome and tasty. The hike to World's View is a must it simply takes your breath away in more than one sense. What a delight -... More

We took a scenic drive to Giants Castle Resort this morning and we were really glad we did. Only about 30 odd Kms from White Mountain Lodge, the drive was spectacular. The majestic Drakensburg Mountains host Giants Castle Resort which offers so much to tourists and locals. Hiking, fishing, scenic walks, mountain climbing, etc make it a fun family place... More

We had a nice chalet for 2 people with wonderful mountain view. These chalets are also providing enough privacy compared to the garden chaltes. There are numerous walks from easy ones to high mountain walks. The personell was always helpful. The restaurant (dinner and breakfast) was not stellar, but ok for the price - service was good.
