We booked at Addo Elephant Back Safaris through Groupon. For the discounted price, it was good value for money. I'm not sure I would pay the full price, but we really enjoyed our weekend there. It's a beautiful location in the Zuurberg mountains, about 45min drive from the Addo Park. The facilities in the luxury tents are excellent, from electric... More

Canvas/log cabin situated 60 min from the Addo in the Zuurberg mountains. Rough road through the pass not ideal for daily drives to the Addo but perfect if you want peace and tranquility. This resort mainly caters for guests who come for elephant back safari rides. As we only came to visit the Addo it was a bit far and... More

Set high in Zuburg mountains. The trip up was a real battle because of the rains and the rivers being swollen. We took the route past the Zuburg inn and had to ring the hotel as we could not get through the water. Collin the manager phoned a guy to come and help . He drover our car through for... More

We stayed two nights in a fabulous treehouse style lodge with a Jacuzzi outside (they all have Jacuzzis) the staff went above and beyond for us, they provided a campcot with bedding, made us lunch and brought it to the room on the day we arrived (as we arrived late), also provided dinner for us on the second night for... We had a wonderful time. The place is beautiful and tranquil. Collen, the manager, was extremely helpful and professional. The elephant guides were knowledgeable and highly capable. The rooms were luxurious and had everything we wanted. My only criticism is that when we were rained in and couldn't leave because the roads were flooded, there was clearly no plan in... More

Amazing hotel, in every way! The hotel suits the surroundings and you really feel like you are in the bush (but in the most luxurious way). The room was huge, and had a hot tub, and a lovely balcony overlooking the savannah and the elephants in the distance. It was full board and the food was THE BEST I had... More

Do not miss any opportunity to visit Elephant back safaris – from arrival we were treated like royalty, assisted by the friendliest, most accommodating staff, a special mention to Collin – who provided us with countless information on what to do and where to go. I will never forget my experience at EBS and my first encounter with beautiful big... More

After a four week conservation placement in the South African bush, I was looking to relax and recharge my batteries. The lodge, staff, elephants, food and setting did not disappoint. Unfortunately, my suitcase wasn't large enough to pack the chef. I will miss those freshly baked muffins for breakfast.

Yes we loved the elephants but were disappointed with this lodge not getting the basics correct. In spite of being surrounded by citrus orchards and with a plane flying In twice a day we were aghast that they did not serve any fresh fruit for breakfast, only tinned fruit. The fruit juice was clearly oros and not fresh juice. Accommodation... More

Fantastic huge tents in the middle of nowhere with wooden floor. You and Mother Nature with fantastic view! You have privacy and a jacuzzi on the terrace under the stars. The staff is friendly, the food is good. You really live and experience the elephants.
