River Bend is a beautiful lodge with great staff, rooms and food. The game viewing was only mediocre, so I would not travel to Addo specifically as a safari destination. While my guide was great, the lodge does not keep track of where the animals are in the reserve, so we had a whole day barely seeing anything more than... More

we stayed here in June, which is winter in So. Africa. There were few guests which made the time spent even better for a real getaway. The lodge is laid out in a circle with nice gardens, lovely single family huts, a gorgeous swimming pool (it is not heated), and two-story library bar. Rooms- are really single family huts. beautiful... More

It's hard to find the words to do justice to River Bend Lodge... My wife, three boys and I have just spent four glorious nights there. Many places we have been to claim to offer five star comfort and service but River Bend not only delivers - it goes well beyond it. The level of care, friendliness and attention to... More

We stayed two nights recently at River Bend Lodge. It was a birthday get-away and the lodge staff made sure the "birthday boy" was celebrated. Bubbles, chocolate cake and a romantic turndown with Amarula and rose petals...... This is a beautifully furnished and laid out lodge comprising 8 rooms around a lush garden with ancient pepper trees and pretty agapanthus.... More

Such a fantastic place! Great staff and rangers who go above and beyond! Stayed at River Bend for two nights and had two interconnecting rooms (travelling with kids). We were met on arrival by Stephanie and Steve, who was to be our ranger for the visit and after being shown around the rooms, the main dining room, the lounge, library,... More

Words cannot describe how much we enjoyed our visit to Long Hope Villa near River Bend Lodge. Darlington, our ranger, Wonder, our chef, Lindiwe and Belinda looked after us as we have never been looked after before. Darlington is a talented ranger, at one with the bush, and able to find lions, elephants and any other animal or bird we wished... More

River Bend lodge is the definition of 5 Star. From the the greeting by the property manager and our guide / ranger for our stay, to our departure everything thing possible was done to make our stay the most relaxing and enjoyable possible. My husband and I stayed at Riverbend Lodge for three days and can honestly say it was one of the most memorable experiences we have ever had. The moment we arrived and were greeted by the lovely assistant manager Stefanie and our guide David, we felt like we had entered a new world where nothing was too much trouble, where... More
