Had the most amazing time ever at Gorah Elephant camp on Friday 12th December. My husband and I along with our youngest daughter thought we had been transported back in time to days of the British hunting lodges in Africa. We were greeted by the resident large elephant as we got out of our hire car then a hostess warmly... More

We stayed 3 days at Gorah. The staff were friendly, the tent fantastic, the guide was great and the animals amazing. At night it is lit with candles and lanterns. Our joke during the day was that you don't have to leave the verandah to see lions, elephants, buffalo, zebra and more!

You really get the 'wow' factor when you first arrive at Gorah! We couldn't believe how security conscious it was when we first arrived in the national park- our car was searched and you go through a few sets of locked gates. We received a gift bag of water with a letter at a gate telling us that we were... More

The venue is set in the middle of the Addo national park. The staff welcome you as if you are old friends and settle you into your tented lodgings overlooking the plains. We stayed 3 nights at Gorah, and enjoyed every aspect of the experience. Our tent was beautifully appointed, with a suberb view of the landscape and the watering hole which we enjoyed during our daytime relaxation. The lodge was beautifully furnished with well-placed antiques, which invoke the history of the area. The food was exquisite and plentiful. The highest praise... More

What a great experience. We spent two nights at this beautiful and mystic camp which sits infront of a waterhole and attracts the wild animals. Monkeys run around the common area of the hotel. The tents are luxurious, comfortable and very romantic. In the evening you can sit on your porch, sip on some white wine or sherry and watch... More

It seems the experience of "Officialreviewer321" below is not one that has been shared by the vast mjority of reviewers who clearly have high opinions of Gorah. We found it a wonderful experience. Leaving the car at the gate lodge our first game drive was effectively being driven through the park to the lodge. Gorah boasts a high density of... More

This lodge was different from all others. While the tents are a bit simple (no electricity at certain times, no wifi, plastic shower that changed temperature all the time...) the main house is just as in former times, full of charm and just with candles in the evening. It is like living in the times when the settlers came to... More

As a South African who grew up with safari, no newbie to luxury lodges, and having lived in Italy for 5 years, we were thrilled to hear about Gorah Elephant camp.
