We spent 5 nights camping at the main rest camp at Addo. The camping sites are nice, although they have no view which is a bit of a shame. Each site has a plug-point for electricity and a braai (barbecue). The ablution facilities are very well maintained, as is the communal kitchen. The campsite has a petrol station, shop, swimming... Stayed in a Forest Chalet for one night in October 2014. Had a very nice day and a half in the park, and found everything about the accommodation very good. The check in process was done efficiently and by very friendly staff and the Chalet was spotlessly clean and equipped with all we needed. The setting is perfect. The Park... More

Convenient Internet booking, reasonable price. Check-in at reception was swift and professional. The restaurant is excellent, local food supply and the best we have experienced in SANPARK locations. The park (game drive) is mediocre, but worth doing it for 1 day.

We stayed in one of the cottages which we found clean and well equiped . It is an excellent well run camp and we would recommend Addo. You are free to visit the park at any time between 6 am and 6 pm, we also booked a night drive. The elephants were wonderful, we also saw plenty of different animals... More

After having a luxury night in a private game reserve we were keen to enjoy 'the real thing' and Addo did not disappoint. Suggest entering the park at the southern end. Simply head for Colchester on the N2 and you will see sign for Addo Matyholweni gate. This means that you experience the whole park (well some of it as... More

Although I found the camp quite large, there are a few options as far as accommodation go. we stayed in a cottage overlooking the park. It was not on the waterhole but the view of an open area of the park in front of the cottage was good. The reception staff were helpful and friendly, the shop well stocked with... More

We have stayed in the Kruger National Park many times and in various rest camps or bushveld camps and this one in Addo is our favourite. It is a smallish camp but superbly run. All of the staff - every single one we met - were helpful and friendly. The cottage was wonderful and modern and clean. The verandah was... More

We stayed in a two person cottage at Addo – it was the best accommodation of the rest camps we’ve stayed at in the national parks. Instead of a rondavel, it was a spacious Cape Dutch style cottage, with a large braai area and patio. Nicely secluded from the surrounding cottages. For photos, check out our blog post about Addo:... We stayed in the Rondavels for 2 nights and thought it was a great place to stay and relax. I do not know the chales looked, but would def say that the rondavels are better located, being close to the water hole as well as the restaurant. Simply put, I would recommend staying in a rondavel for anyone who is... More
