Addo was great. We stayed in a chalet for 2 nights and saw elephants, warthogs and kudu from the verandah while having a braai. Hearing the jackals howling at night was a truly African experience, also being burgled by hungry vervet monkeys was interesting too (the window was open just a crack and they managed to get in to nick... What a pleasant surprise this park has been. The staff were most helpful in checking us in and booking our night safaris in Kruger. When I booked a table for dinner; the table was set with glasses and candles. The service was excellent and the staff so friendly. We stayed in tents. It was clean with a magnificent view and... A fantastic campsite with great ablutions and sites that are well shaded. Game viewing in great and the new Cattle Baron restaurant is nicely understated in a national park but quality food. Sites are laid with stones and divided by spekboom bush giving that better privacy.

You definitely have a very good chance of seeing elephants. We saw them every day we were there and even on one day, saw a herd of at least 70 elephants together - definitely a sight to see. Accommodation was ideal and more than I was expecting. Very comfortable and spacious with a balcony overlooking the grounds. the swimming pool... More

For a **stars lodging the small houses are furnished very well. The view of our terrace was miraculous, we could see from there even Kudus. In the kitchen everything is available what good breakfast or dinner is required. Parking bay directly before the door. Up to the water hole, the restaurant, the shop and the Meetingpoint for the Safaris these... More

We stayed for two nights at Addo in a Rondavel which overlooked the floodlit waterhole and we loved it. The Rondavel had everything you needed for a short stay (including your own fridge) clean and comfortable would recommend. The communal kitchen was well equipped with locked cupboards for your provisions. We were impressed by this restcamp as it was our... More

We have stayed for two nights in the Addo Nation Park. The Park ist okay, if it will be the first time, that somebody will do a safari. It has many tourists there. Also the landscape is a little bit boring. It has much better Nation Parks in South Africa like the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Park, Ithala Game Reserve or the... More

Camps run by the pubilic National Parks Authority in South Africa have a bad reputation, and in many cases we found out its not just reputation. Concerning Addo's Rest Camp we where positivly surprised. The place is clean, large and very well mantained, restaurant is good, service is okay, stuff is professional and friendly, even the pool area is nice.... More

The Addo Elephant park offers to drive through with your own car which is a lot of fun to discover the animals on your own. We spent our night in a cottage and the roof is made out of reet - this might be the reason for the very unpleasant smell. It was extreme and we figured out that there... More
