Like most WWC motels - small, and overpriced for what you get. Ive stayed at many WWC motels over the last 30 years, and this one was average or slightly below average for the Family-Oriented class. Small pool, small room (even the 2-room efficiency was very small), old bathroom fixtures, noisy AC, uncomfortable sofa-bed, etc. We could have stayed at an Embassy Suites for this price, but they know they gotcha. If you want to be in the same town as the most underrated (and convenient) beach/boardwalk on the northeast coast, you are stuck paying what they demand. Maybe if more of us thumbed our noses at these aging, overpriced motels and made other vacation plans (we will next year) for a while, perhaps theyd realize they have to either seriously renovate or reduce their prices to attract customers. Anyway, the Mariner may be one of your best values in the family-oriented class, but if you can afford a few extra bucks a night, the Lotus is definitely better, and the even more pricey...
