It's an old hotel and the rooms are OK, with older furniture. But it's a favorite for local weddings, parties, etc. and you cannot escape the noise from the parties anywhere in the main building. My first night someone had a party in their room and I had to switch rooms at 1 am. Yes, hotel security tried to quiet... More

My family and I stayed at the Grand Summit Hotel once again last week for about three days. The experience was awesome! We had such a great time and the staff was very pleasant and helpful from the front desk to the environmental staff. Employees at the hotel go above and beyond to make guests feel like they are home... More

The hotel is in a great location and just a short walk to downtown Summit. The entrance and lobby are impressive with its old world charm. The rooms are spacious, but definitely needs renovation. The bathrooms are worn and have old fixtures, carpet needs replacing. Not much to say about decor. The inclusive breakfast was ample and delicious including some... More

I recently stayed at this hotel and the experience was wonderful! My daughter moved my grandson into college in New Jersey and we had the pleasure of staying at this jewel of a hotel! The staff were very accommodating, the rooms were very comfortable and clean and the overall feel of the hotel was very positive. A charming, lovely hotel... More

I have stayed here many times and this past stay was above and beyond top notch service! I had the pleasure of meeting Michael Marino, asst. GM who is very engaging and made me feel right at home. The front desk staff, Douglas at the Hat Tavern and Larry and John who shuttled me around town really added to my... More

Title tells it all. Wifi is worst I have ever seen in a hotel. Basement rooms receive zero Wifi and whole hotel has poor cell reception. Staff try to blame version yet in hotel is only place I don't get service in town. Here with a group out of 7 rooms all had no Wifi. Heard two other guests at... More

Stayed in the hotel for 3 nights 31/07 - 03/08 then 1 night 12/08 with my family. The hotel had a real good feel factor. I could not fault the service or condition of the rooms or staff. Breakfast was perfect for our day ahead which where full days in NY. Hotel is a short walk to the train station... More

I ended up in this hotel as I was travelling on business and had meetings at a nearby office park. So I just looked for the closest hotel, this one came up, it had 4 stars, so I just booked it. I figured i would be OK for 2 nights. I guess i survived the stay, but it was by... More

Visited the Grand Summit Hotel on a business trip in Summit NJ. My first impression when I heard the hotel we were staying in was founded in 1868 was a little concerning. On arrival, I was very pleasantly surprised! The group I was traveling with was on a 4 night banquet event and we are all in the travel and... More

This could be a grand, boutique hotel, but it's missing the mark. Having stayed 4 nights, we had the opportunity to encounter or observe a vast majority of the staff and, with the exception of 2 dining room staff members, would say this is where one of the major problems lies. The front desk staff operate like the key stone... More
