This was our first trip to the smithville inn in new jersey . I was worried at first because of the word historic , usually equates to be an older hotel . The fears were gone when I first walked in , and further when we got our room. They were done very tastefully and the updated bathroom was something... More

This past weekend, my husband and I celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary at the Colonial Inn. We had our entire immediate family there which is 21 people. We stay in the main lodge and my family in different rooms at the Barn. All of the rooms were beautiful. Tracy is so hospitable and the entire stay was wonderful. The little... More

Our two night stay was in a room located in The Barn... Very cute decor and comfy bed. Our problem was that the outdoor lights shone directly into our room and the blinds and curtains weren't sufficient in blocking them. We had one extra blanket in the closet, so we hung it over the brightest window to assist with sleep.... More

This was our 3rd stay at The Colonial Inn. Previous trips have been in The Johnson Suite and Room 308 in the Barn. Room 311 is a lovely room in the Barn, that has 2 queen beds. This room is great if you need a room that sleeps more than 2. It has a nice porch that you can relax... More

This is a cute little location for those who love antiquing, crafty type shopping, and a quiet weekend away. My boyfriend and I spent two nights in the Barn, room 310, which shares a porch with two other rooms. I had kind of wanted the fancier rooms originally, but now know that the nicer suites are scattered throughout the village,... More

Hello, and thank you for your review! We are so happy that you enjoyed your time with us. Barn Room 310's porch is definitely something to enjoy during the warmer months. It's so nice to stare at the greenery and watch the Smithville Train drive by. If you're not interested in a Village Room, we have "upgraded" rooms, such as... More

We've stayed many times at The Colonial Inn at Historic Smithville and is always a pleasure. The Barn Lodging is Kid Friendly and there are many rooms to choose from...a little more rustic than at the Inn...Rooms are comfortable and Clean...It's a half way stop over when we visit Storybook Land or the Cape May Zoo. Hello! Thank you for your review. We couldn't agree more! Historic Smithville is so lovely, especially during Christmas time. The Holiday Light Show on the Lake is a tradition, and we love seeing families enjoy it. We also love seeing children enjoy the Colonial Inn's over-sized Barn Rooms and Historic Smithville's Train, Carousel, Paddle Boats and various arcade games. The... More

We just attended a family wedding held here. We stayed in the B & B overnight. The place is quaint and cozy. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Towels were soft and fluffy!! Our whole family rented out all the rooms for the wedding. The staff was warm and friendly. The whole venue there was wonderful, from the wedding, to cocktails... More

I have stayed at the Colonial Inn for the past few years and I must say it is my favorite B&B ever. The rooms are very unique with such character you will really feel like your living back in the colonial times. From the staff to the rooms the experience has always exceeded my expectations. My boyfriend and I had visited Smithville before just for a few day trips, and we had always thought the barn looked absolutely adorable. So, for his birthday, I booked the barn room 305. It was extremely reasonably priced, even with the addition of some fancy chocolates waiting to surprise him. When we got there to check in, the sweet... More

Our kids gave us a gift of a night in the Johnson Suite 202 as an Anniversary present. I was expecting it to be quaint and lovely, but words just can't describe our surprise at the comfort of this suite! So spacious ... two full rooms, with a television and (artificial) fireplace in each room. An extra large bath, with... More
