After deciding to late to stay in Glasgow we looked further out for a B&B and are very glad to have found this hotel, lovely setting, lovely food and staff that are really friendly and nothing is to much trouble for them. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a slightly quieter setting to use a base, the... More

Booked via laterooms as a spontaneous trip. We arrived late in the day, around 7:30 pm having motorbiked it up from Manchester via the lakes. I was genuinely surprised, the building is lovely inside. It was clean and well maintained and the rooms a good size and well furnished. The restaurant and bar offered a more casual dining experience and... More

23/08/2014: Lunched in the conservatory with my wife and her uncle (aged 94) who lives literally over the fence from the hotel grounds. Entrees were lentil soup and seafood salad. Uncle recommended the steak pie for mains and I can report that it was the best I have eaten in a very long time, almost surpassing fond memories of my... More

I recently visited this hotel. I was looking forward to it and was not disappointed. The hotel itself was immaculate, retaining its character throughout. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is not the cheapest hotel around but well worth a visit if you like this style of building.

I booked to stay for a Friday evening and was quoted a rate of £99, dinner bed and breakfast and a bottle of Prosecco. Having scanned the reviews, my expectations weren't sky-high but I was seriously impressed. OK so the whole place could do with some general TLC but as it's a heritage building, you have to expect some compromises.... More

My wife and I, along with my daughter and her family stayed in Kincaid House Hotel on Wednesday 30th April. I found the staff most helpful as we arrived very early as we were going to a funeral later that morning. Bedroom clean and bed comfortable. Lovely meal in the evening. Much changed since it was the smoking/drinking establishment I... More

The food in the bar was nice and the staff pleasant. Right thats out of the way then. The room was dirty, stained wallpaper, carpets mould and mildew in the bathroom but the best/worst bit was the actual state of the floor. Every time the guest in the room next door walked across the floor my bed dipped on one... More

This hotel is my local one and I have been dining and drinking there for more than 40 years. It has always been reliable for a night out and I have had many celebratory meals there over the years. Last night was one such occasion and my wife and i enjoyed an excellent meal in the Conservatory. The service was... More

Dined in Stables bar Friday 7th March 2014. Waiter spilled a side portion of chips. He apologised, did not remove mess or replace so we had to dine on a chip strewn table. Did remove from bill but I had to ask for this. Was then overcharged by £10 on my bill. I had to point out mistake.Emailed manager to advise.... More
