My wife and I stayed for one night as a stopover driving north. We found it well worth the detour off the interstate. We recently went on a "castle tour" in Ireland, and staying here is similar enough to our experience at Adare Manor and Ashford Castle (other than the fine dining at those properties). Stonework exterior, stained glass windows,... More

I've visited and toured many historic mansions over the years and always fantasized about what it would be like to stay for even just a night in one of them. A night at Skylands Manor helped me to realize that fantasy! The house seems to be just as it was when it was built--the woodwork, the fireplaces, the 1920's era... More

My husband, teenage daughter and I spent a night at this lovely inn. First let me say that if you're looking for a luxurious, state of the art hotel with lots of bells and whistles, this ain't it! There are no phones in the rooms, no refrigerator, no heat lamps in the bathroom and there are no bar or restaurant... More

We were at the Skyland Manor for a wedding in June. We were very excited to attend because we knew the Skyland Manor had a lot of charm and it looked absolutely beautiful. As soon as we pulled in there were issues. You can only park in 3 lots, which are all at least 1/4 of a mile away from... More

I read many reviews (quite a few negative) on this facility prior to booking through a Groupon but decided to go to make my own assessment. My husband and I took my son, daughter-in-law, and two small grandchildren on an "adventure" We stayed in the family Chateau Room which was perfect for all of us. The rooms were very large... More

My husband and I stayed overnight in the Gatsby room. I am a firm believer in reviews as I rely on the when I am traveling to a new place. I saw the mixed reviews and chose to book anyway. I am glad that we did. Although, normally out of our price range we booked a great deal through Groupon.... More

This is a wonderful bed an breakfast in the midst of the New Jersey Botanical Gardens, less than 90 minutes from the George Washington Bridge. We came for a two night respite and from the moment we arrived the Inn Keeper, Dave" was attentive and helpful. After checking us in he recommended some local restaurants and attractions in this quiet... More

I reserved with some trepidation after having seen some of the "terrible" reviews on trip advisor. OK people: what exactly is it that you want? You are staying in an historic home built in the 1920's on 1000+ acres of botanic gardens. The common rooms are a little musty and drafty but that is part of the charm. The guest... More

Beautiful drive up to the castle, helpful & friendly staff. The manor is well maintained and the grounds are beautifully kept. Service was excellent. The building itself is quite beautiful and the staff will regale you with ghost stories if you want something eerie checked off your list.

My husband and I like to escape on weekends to different types of properties and when this "castle" deal came up, we thought it to be an adventure. Little did we know, it would turn out to be a spooky adventure. First of all, getting to the castle proved to be quite a trek, it was way out in nowhere... More
