Room smelled like cigarette smoke. There are signs that say no smoking, as well as no parties. Unfortunately, smoke was everywhere, and parties on both sides of our room kept us up. This family run place has terrible customer service. It took us 30 minutes to check in, even though we had reservations. The furniture in our room was all... more

Although we have responded to the prior negative review, we beleive it is appropriate in this case to respond identically. We maintain a clean well run motel and we are never rude or discourteous to any guest. July 4th weekend is always a difficult balance as we do encounter guests who will disregard our no smoking policies and inconvenience other...

The motel was nasty and dirty and smelly. Theresa, who I understand was the manager, was very unpleasant when we complained. STAY AWAY!! more

We maintain a clean well run motel and we are never rude or discourteous to any guest. July 4th weekend is always a difficult balance as we do encounter guests who will disregard our no smoking policies and inconvenience other guests, however in this case the seems to be similarities in these most recent postings which reflect a motivation which...

I've stayed at the Amethyst's Beach motel several times. I like the fact that it's one of the closest motels to the boardwalk. Whether you're spending the day at the amusement park or at Martells Tiki Bar ;) it's a short walk back to the motel. The staff is always accommodating and friendly. The pool is a nice treat too! more

I rarely take the time to write a review for a business (good or bad). However, this time I really feel that I should. We have been traveling down to the shore for quite some time and the Amethyst motel has to be the best place that my wife and I have stayed. From check in to check out the... more

I recently stayed at the Amethyst Beach Motel for a business trip. The room was beautiful and even had a flat-screen television with digital cable. There was also a fridge and a microwave in the room for us to use. It was a very clean room with a king sized bed and plenty of towels for the bathroom. Jenkinson's Boardwalk... more

The first time my fiance and I stayed at Amethyst was in October 2007. We stayed in a king size room that had a fridge, microwave, flat screen tv, and digital cable. The continental breakfast was muffins, bagels, coffee, and hot water for tea. We absolutely loved the place and couldn't wait to go back this year, and stay 4... more

As always it is the comfort of our guests which is our primary concern. We were not aware of any issues with this particular guests stay and each of us had seen and said hello each day. If we were given the opportunity of being made aware that something about the facility or services was less than anticipated we would...

My Girlfriend and I took a last min. 4 day vacation, Sept. 24th - 28th. The summer season had ended so we kinda had the place to ourselves. The weather wasn't in our favor so we made the best of it. Aside from the late season and weather conditions, we enjoyed this little town. We traveled by train, (NJTransit) .... more

My husband and I were at the Amethyst's in July 2008 and back again with our family in August. Now September we wanted to spend our 45th Wedding Anniversary weekend at the Amethyst's Theresa and Ashley surprised us with a giant balloon playing Happy Anniversary and a bottle of wine. That was so nice of them and we certainly appreciated... more

I would not recommend this hotel. The "summer help" at the front desk mixed up our reservation with another couple of the same name, and we were forced to leave out vacation a day early and made to feel like it was our fault. When we arrived home and checked our confirmation email the dates were correct. We called the... more

Even the Best Make Mistakes, we are human and so are the young well intentioned summer interns and desk staff who we employ. All of us here at Amethyst understand and would like to offer you the opportunity of returning with a substantial discount. As anyone understands of the some 10,000 individual guests who we have the pleasure of hosting...
