The inn, small in scale, was big in ambition. I stayed in the Isaac Hilliard suite, a large bedroom with sofa and four poster bed, a dressing room, and a large bathroom. The room was furnished in a mix of pieces, with a gas-fired fireplace. The furnishings and accessories were a crazy mix of periods and styles, as was much of the inn interior. Yet this unusual combination had a wonderful homey or personalized quality that was enjoyable. The innkeeper served a delightful breakfast each morning in the dining room. Tables are available for each of the five rooms in the inn. There is even an in-ground (although unheated) and very nice looking pool and terrace area. Parking is provided behind the inn. All in all it was a very good experience, which I am planning to repeat later in the year. I recommend this quaint and quirky bed and breakfast to any visitors to central New Jersey.
