I should have read the reviews. I checked in and half an hour later, checked out. Filthy, dark, no hospitality. The lobby felt neglected, the room was dirty. I was asked to not bring food into the room to prevent roaches! I left found a lovely, clean we'll run B & B. This place should be condemned!

We stayed here for one night which is fortunate, because if we were supposed to stay longer I would have slept in my car. The room was creepy, unsafe and beyond old. For the price I was expecting a lot more. The fire detector was hanging from the ceiling (so we assume it didn't work) and the heating units along... More

This Hotel is steeped in history and Ocean Grove was a very exclusive place to be turn of the century. It was owned by two sisters, their father a wealthy industrialist purchased it for them in the 1800's. I took a tour before choosing my room, which by the way was sunny and done in beautiful Victorian lace curtains and... More

As an old hotel you have to expect uneven floors, peeling paint and small rooms. In which could all be part of the "charming" experience. However, this hotel fails on cleanliness, maintenance and communication within staff. Unnecessary clutter, sticky dust, dirty floors, rotten floors under carpet and shower stalls, water damage on ceiling and unprofessional service. The owners like to... More

We stayed there the weekend of August 15. The location was great, the owner was super helpful and hospitable. The place is charming and cozy. charming. Our room was very clean as well as the facilities and bathrooms. Breakfast was an added bonus with Bill being very gracious and accommodating. Will definitely be back!

After reserving sight unseen, we asked for our money back and went to the Majestic Hotel. The Albatross website is absolutely deceptive and it is actually very dingy, smells foul, dark inside and the front desk person has an attitude. They are not hospitable at all! Highly recommend that you go elsewhere! Unfortunately, one of our friends had to stay... More

.have already made reservations to go back for the 4th of July. I found this bed and breakfast charming. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful. Every day of my stay was delightful. It is within walking distance to the beach, shopping and Asbury Park. I plan on staying here whenever I can.

Our room reminded me of room one would get in a boarding house...ceiling had to be 30+ years old...the ugly paneling and dirty looking carpet in the room was probably even older. The shower in the hallway was also old and disgusting. Too much money for such a dump. The breakfast was adequate.

Most B&B are very old some things can not be helped so you have to realize what you are dealing with, yes it may take a few minutes for the water to get warm and reach the 3rd floor...aside from all new plumbing it goes with the territory. The owner was nice...perhaps he has read most of these reviews and... More
