The Melrose is a great place. Randy, the host, is so welcoming and friendly that I felt instantly at home. Within 15 minutes of my arrival, I learned the best restaurants and interesting places to visit. The room was comfortable and cozy. The breakfast was very good and filling, and the bedtime cookies a real treat at your doorstep. But... More

My husband and I visited Ocean Grove for the first time for our "babymoon" weekend. We heard great things about The Melrose and its hospitality and we were not disappointed! Randy was thoughtful and attentive throughout the entire weekend, offering very helpful tips about the area. Although we felt the full breakfast was subpar, the service was excellent and who... More

I knew from the moment I walked in to this B & B it was not the cleanest, and smelled of OLD... musty, mildewy. When I was shown my room I got depressed from the size, decor, and run down look. I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. I unpacked my things...noticing the filth in every area.... More

Had a great time at the Melrose. Fresh baked cookies outside my door every night. Not the usual B & B coffee and a bun for breakfast. This was a full breakfast with something different every day. You really don't need to eat the rest of the day. The genial host makes everyone welcome and the guests are interesting people.... More

Randy is so warm and welcoming and made the visit great. The house has great character and is very well maintained. The location is perfect and so was the weather (although I don't think Randy had much to do with that!) We'll be back...Terri C

A very warm and inviting place. The rooms are cozy, the breakfast delicious. Freshly baked cookies await you at your door in the evenings. Nice touch. Perfect location to the beach and town. Highly recommend.

My daughter and I had a great stay at the Melrose this weekend. Randy was so pleasant and accommodating. The room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was great, and the location was very close to the beach.

The Melrose is owned by Randy and Dan, the 2 friendliest inkeepers I have ever met. The house is furnished with beautiful antiques and each room is different with its own charm. I highly recommend it!

The Melrose Inn is a wonderful Victorian B & B in the charming town of Ocean Grove, NJ. It has comfortable rooms and great porches to sit and relax on. The Inn is just a couple short blocks to the beach and the board walk that stretches through several towns. The breakfasts at the Melrose are delicious and very filling.... More

Beautifully decorated inn a few blocks from the ocean. Hospitality is outstanding and I always feel welcome. This is my 3rd visit to the area...once in the winter and twice over the summer. I am really enjoying getting to know the area and Randy is a great source of information. He makes himself available to sit and chat and get... More
