Take in a little piece of history at this hotel in the middle of a unique area. The breakfast was wonderful--egg, cheese, and biscuit breakfast sandwiches over and above the normal!!! Staff was friendly and funl

I stayed at the Robert treat hotel with my boyfriend and another couple in august for a concert. We stayed 3 nights, 4 days and we had an awesome experience. The staff were incredibly helpful, they let us keep our bags there after we checked out so we were able to walk around without them during our last day in... More

the robert treat, to me, is a well run, 3 star hotel. It has good access to the hockey arena, New York and Newark International at about half the cost of a comparable hotel in N.Y.C. Newark is not exactly Shangrala and finding a decent pkace to eat can sonetimes be callenging, but the savings outweigh the drawbacks.

Stayed at the Robert Treat while on a project in downtown Newark. The hotel was close to the office and had a good rate for the company. The rooms I stayed in were run down and out dated. There was paint pealing from the ceiling in the bathroom, wall paper torn off and no electrical outlet at the desk. The... More

Great place to stay if you can't afford high cost hotels in NYC. It takes only about 30 PATH ride from NYC to Newark. The room is very clean. Free breakfast could use some work. Overall, the hotel is located in a safe area.

When visiting Rutgers University-Newark, this is always my first choice. It is the closest to the campus and contains a great restaurant called Maize. Some rooms are better than others, but overall they are not bad for an old historic hotel. The rooms tend to be on the small side, but they are well appointed with plenty of electric outlets... More

Changed my reservation to here after reading that the Comfort Suites was in a sketchy area. This was much better situated, very close to Penn Station with a free shuttle that picked up from there, even when returning late in the evening. Free breakfast and parking, though the parking was difficult and required backing in reverse at an angle.

This hotel is conveniently located close to the PATH / Penn station in Newark N.J. I walked to and from most times, about a 10 minute walk and the area seemed safe, I felt safe. I would not walk at night thought, but this is why the hotel has a free shuttle to and from the train station anyway, just... More

I stayed for 1 night during a layover. I thought the staff were very friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed the breakfast buffet (the lounge is small, but cosy). I also liked how close Penn station was and that the hotel offered free shuttle rides there; it's actually really easy to walk there, but the ride is good for after... More

This hotel is right across the street from the NJPAC. Perfect location for the biennial Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival. Lobby is gorgeous and service is impeccable. Rooms are small and not modern but really the hotel has an old school feel to it and it is charming. Rooms are very clean which is most important and have free Wi-Fi.... More
