Stayed in town for a hockey game. Upgraded to the Concierge Floor for free breakfast & hospitality room snacks at night. Well worth the $15 extra we paid online. Snacks were pretty healthy for the most part: veggie chips, wasabi peas, hummus, fruits, vegetables, cheeses, etc. Sodas, waters and juice included. Beers were about $5 each. Breakfast was not a... Wanted to go to NYC for a UW Husky basketball game in Madison Square Garden in mid December. Obviously NYC is a very popular place at Christmas time, so I wasn't surprised that all decent hotels in Manhattan were super expensive. So I decided to stay a bit out of town and settled on Hilton Newark Penn Station per advice... More

Chek-in staff were not particularly friendly, didn't say a word to me other than to ask for ID, Credit Card and to hand me my key. I am on the 6th floor and the hallway smells. Thankfully my room does not smell quite as bad. The room (carpet, walls) looks very old and grubby and the bathroom is very basic.... More

I stayed here during the holidays in Dec 2011. It was perfect. The rooms are large, clean, quiet. The reason I picked here was because we were visiting NYC and the rates were about $100 less a night than in NYC over New Years. This hotel is across the street from the Newark Rail station. It is a $5 ride,... More

The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Eddie on the door! Our room was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed and great quality bed linens. We stayed one night and chose this hotel for its excellent location for the Prudential Center (less than a 10 minute indoor walk) and close to Newark airport (they have a free hourly... More

The main reason for selecting Hilton Newark Penn Station was to have easy train access to NYC while paying less than half rates compared with Manhattan hotels. And it did work out perfectly. 20 - 25 minutes train ride to either New York Penn Station at Madison Square Garden or the WTC Path station on Lower Manhattan. You only have... More

This hotel provided an excellent base to explore NYC without paying the huge price to stay in Manhattan. Directly opposite Penn Street Station the PATH into Manhatten takes less than 20 minutes and is reasonably priced with trains running late into the night. Comfortable rooms with friendly staff. Not much to see in Newark but would highly recommend this hotel... More

We stayed here one night before a cruise as our flight came in to Newark. By the time we found the place (more on that later) it was quite late, but we were treated with a smile and courtesy by the front desk. (Also as a side hint for the ladies who may be so inclined -- I discreetly noticed... More

The service was the worse ever. My husband and I usually stay @ Sheraton and we'll continue!!!!! The staff didn't the hotel policies and was very aggressive, not helpful at all, excepted @ the so-called restaurant but the food was horrible ... I wonder if the service is the same for everybody? I was ver ashamed because we had booked... More

Very convenient location to the transit system, literally across the street. Going from NJ to NY daily you definitely want to buy the metro cards. The hotel is very nicely maintained, great staff, clean and comfy rooms.
