Having lived in Argyll all my childhood (now living in England) my husband and I decided to make a trip to Islay, at the beginning of September, never having visited the island.Yes, the sun shone every day of our visit,,allowing us opportunities to explore, but our stay with Emma and Graeme was simply perfect. The whole ambience of the hall and lounge... More

Emma & Graeme are trained and experienced hospitality professionals who have taken over and seek to improve on the family's B&B business. Our visit was too short and too late to sample any of the afternoon tea or dinner options, but it is evident Glenegedale is run as a hotel in all but name. Emma kindly left us each a... More

What a wonderful spot to have as a home base for a trip to Islay! The Glenegedale House is a warm and welcoming bed and breakfast, and Emma and Graeme were terrific hosts. They ably assisted with appointments at distilleries, restaurant reservations, and all sorts of other advice and recommendations. Breakfast at Glenegedale was fantastic. Very highly recommended and would... More

We stayed here for five nights in August on a quiet holiday away from it all. The hosts were very helpful in everything, from ferry landing times to coming to rescue when we didn't book for dinner one night, helping to find a table for us. They went out of their way to help with planning our days too. The... More

Graeme and Emma make you feel very welcome on arrival, and the accommodation is everything you need whilst visiting Islay. The Glenegedale is particularly well positioned for the Machrie Golf course and Port Ellen, and it's walkable distillery tour of Laphroig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg. If you are looking for peace and quiet and your own front door, then this is... More

We were warmly greeted and welcomed into Emma and Graeme's home. After being shown to our lovely room we were invited to tea and home made cakes in the sitting room. The house is beautifully decorated and invites rest and relaxation, the bedrooms are comfortable with little extras that make this B&B a cut above the rest. Breakfast was delicious... More

Six of us stayed at Glenegedale Guest House, arriving by air from Germany. After a few hours on Islay, during which we had checked in at Emma and Graeme´s house and been given two types of tea and three types of cake, my German friends were referring to our home for three nighs as "das Hotel", which really says it... Three of us flew into Islay and were so fortunate that there was a cancellation at Glenegedale. The warmest of Scottish welcomes. Home baking to the fore. Exceptionally comfortable bedrooms, amazing hospitality from our hosts Emma and Graeme and a wonderful Scottish breakfast to set us on our way in the morning. Just can't fault this guesthouse and if we... More

What a beautiful house and setting near the beach and centrally located to tour the entire island. The hosts, Emma and Graeme were very welcoming and accommodating and all the little extras (cake and tea upon arrival) were very much appreciated. The breakfast was fantastic. The rooms are a spacious and very clean with nice decor. Nothing negative at all.... More

The Island of Islay lays claim to be the Queen of the Hebrides and with its rugged scenery, miles of golden sand, 8 malt whisky distilleries, the Machrie, one of the world's great golf courses, its geological and cultural history, and the wonderful warmth of its hospitality, the case is almost unarguable. Equally unarguable is Glenegedale House's claim to be... More
