Bohemian, unique, creative---all of these adjectives describe the Yankee Ferry and its owners, Victoria & Richard. Located on the Hudson River in Hoboken, the views of NYC are breathtaking! We were there to visit our daughter in Hoboken and we were only a few blocks from downtown Hoboken and an easy trip into the city. Everywhere you look on the... More

I have never come across such a charming and fascinating place to stay in my life! If you love New York City, this is the hotel for you! It's a historic boat that was used to transport immigrants in the early 1900s. The owners Victoria and her husband bought the boat and have done a tremendous job renovating it into... More

To say that a stay on the Yankee Ferry is extraordinary would be an understatement. I have traveled extensively around New York. This is by far the most unique and amazing place I have ever stayed. As much as I write, I find it hard to describe this place. It is unlike anything else, blending adventure, history, and a sense... More

Staying onboard the Yankee was a unique experience which added to our adventure in New York. Our hosts were very welcoming. We were presented with homemade cookies throughout our stay. The Yankee is docked on the Hudson River at Hoboken with easy access to public transport to New York. Hoboken is a safe area and has an abundance of restaurtants... More

This is one of the most unique places I have ever stayed. I didn't get to meet the hosts, but their caretaker, YM, gave me a tour and mini-history of the ship, and was available to answer any questions I had throughout my 3 night stay. My guests and I stayed in the Crew Quarters. Everything you're reading about this... More

From the moment we walked past the dock garden up the plank onto the boat, I knew that we were in for a unique experience. The boat is loaded with historic artifacts and antiques, mixed in with original art, whimsical and fascinating furnishings. There are surprises at every turn, including a chicken coop. Our hosts were delightful and attentive, and provided... More

We are just back from a three night stay on the Yankee. We left just before the storm and flooding from SANDY and I can't stop thinking about Victoria, Josh, Carlos, the ship, the staff, and the animals. I do not want to hear that the Yankee is gone.....but it seems impossible to believe it survived what I see on... More

I'd seen Yankee Ferry on TV and even attended a few events onboard but nothing compares to actually spending the night there. Yankee is the oldest surviving Ellis Island ferry but it's not just the history that appealed to me, it's the creativity that has gone into restoring her. Owners Victoria & Richard Mackenzie-Childs are amazing artists and their style... More

I have stayed aboard Yankee Ferry several times. I can't say enough good things about this bed & breakfast. The location is convenient with a Ferry to NYC just 1 dock over & convenient parking less than 1 block away (actually it's the same block, just across the street) Coffee shop, grocery, pharmacy, museum & cafe all within 1 block... This is a hard review for me to write because I want to love this place and leave it a glowing review--like the ones i have seen on other sites. I just can't do it...and it makes me feel awful. I found this ferry while planning a surprise weekend for my son and his friend to celebrate his 17th birthday.... More

Dear Mrs. G: My husband and I were so sorry to read your grave report. We have never, ever received a negative report . . . barring one, where the person said that it is dangerous on Yankee, because there is so much art, that someone could be hit by some art falling on them, . . . which we... More
