We have eaten here many times since the new owner reinvented the National Hotel. The food is outstanding. The menu is diverse and the price range allows for casual or more sophisticated dining. There is something for everyone and the Indian dishes are special. The hotel is a historically interesting and the "Rathskeller" dates to 1851. The owner has done... More

This review is for the restaurant. I am a regular there (almost every Friday) and have always had good food, good service. The reason: Marlon, Pete and Casey. Anything you order is good, and they are quite accomodating for changes, substitutions. The menu changes a bit for each season, and I always take a peek at the specials before going,... More

Tried calling a few times to book a room, one number was disconnected, another went to the voicemail. After a few days of trying, finally got someone on the phone. After I mentioned that one number seemed to be disconnected, the response was "OK." Then got transferred to reservations, the person's response to the same concern was "So what was... More

I was extremely surprised by this review & checked all of our phone lines & answering service protocols. I was relieved to receive confirmation that our phone lines have NOT been out of service and that no missed calls have been reported. I can only imagine that @LNRNJ traveler called the wrong number. There was a previous owner of The... More

We stayed at this beautiful hotel about a month ago and enjoyed it very much. Marlin, the manager, was very helpful. Our room was very comfortable and clean. We had dinner in the bar area and the food was great. We had a Mediterranean platter to start, 2 salads, steak frites and a pan-seared salmon. All very good. The bartender... More

My husband and I just returned from a weekend stay at the National. We went for a quiet getaway for our wedding anniversary but what we got was an EXPERIENCE. The National is unbelievably charming. It's updated decor is classic and elegant but does not take away from the feeling of history. This building was constructed in the mid 1800's!... More

This hotel sends my mind reeling back to a finer time, the Vicorian era. The era is quintessentially captured by the architecture, the decor and the general ambiance of the National Hotel. Although I wasn't in the best of spirits due to a hectic travel day, upon my arrival I was warmly greeted and shown up to a wonderful room... More

this is a hotel of what one would consider "charactor." Marlon, who is the hotel keeper is very attentive. . .making sure that the guests are comfortable. It's the 'attention-to-detail" that makes the difference, like providing snacks upon my arrival at 2 am (Smile) travelign all day I was famished. I think that it would be a good idea to... More

I travel for business and this place was simply fantastic . . . great food and the staff is very hospitable. I got a unique experience from these people. The room was not only comfortable, it also had great ambience . . . a nice place to relax after work.

I stayed at The National for a few nights with my wife. The service was wonderful. The staff could have not been more welcoming and friendly. We will certainly return and stay here again. The renovations made recently bring luxury and old school charm together in a way that fits this this town and location perfectly. Both my wife and... More

This was a weekend getaway with my husband, long overdue so we were really excited. When we saw the hotel online we were very impressed, it was just what we wanted without the b&b breakfast etc. We loved the first floor of the hotel, it was nicely restored in the lobby area. We were shown to our room and we... More
