We stayed at this beautiful hotel about a month ago and enjoyed it very much. Marlin, the manager, was very helpful. Our room was very comfortable and clean. We had dinner in the bar area and the food was great. We had a Mediterranean platter to start, 2 salads, steak frites and a pan-seared salmon. All very good. The bartender... More

My husband and I just returned from a weekend stay at the National. We went for a quiet getaway for our wedding anniversary but what we got was an EXPERIENCE. The National is unbelievably charming. It's updated decor is classic and elegant but does not take away from the feeling of history. This building was constructed in the mid 1800's!... More

This hotel sends my mind reeling back to a finer time, the Vicorian era. The era is quintessentially captured by the architecture, the decor and the general ambiance of the National Hotel. Although I wasn't in the best of spirits due to a hectic travel day, upon my arrival I was warmly greeted and shown up to a wonderful room... More

this is a hotel of what one would consider "charactor." Marlon, who is the hotel keeper is very attentive. . .making sure that the guests are comfortable. It's the 'attention-to-detail" that makes the difference, like providing snacks upon my arrival at 2 am (Smile) travelign all day I was famished. I think that it would be a good idea to... More

I travel for business and this place was simply fantastic . . . great food and the staff is very hospitable. I got a unique experience from these people. The room was not only comfortable, it also had great ambience . . . a nice place to relax after work.

I stayed at The National for a few nights with my wife. The service was wonderful. The staff could have not been more welcoming and friendly. We will certainly return and stay here again. The renovations made recently bring luxury and old school charm together in a way that fits this this town and location perfectly. Both my wife and... More

This was a weekend getaway with my husband, long overdue so we were really excited. When we saw the hotel online we were very impressed, it was just what we wanted without the b&b breakfast etc. We loved the first floor of the hotel, it was nicely restored in the lobby area. We were shown to our room and we... More

I stayed in room 204 at this hotel on Sunday through Monday AM and was pleased. Marlon, the host made my stay enjoyable, since I stayed on during the morning of Monday. If you like quiet, choose another room because the hotel sponsors musical activities on Sunday night. I grew up in a large family so didn't mind all the... More

I will recommend this place during the cooler weather read on and you will understand. We have been going to lunch on Sundays and have enjoyed the food and service. This past Sunday we took friends visiting from England. We enjoyed the food however the entire time we had to swat at flies. Asked for a swater the waiter said... More

Our lovely room on the third floor had everything we could want - calm and tasteful decor, comfy king bed, jetted tub, peaceful atmosphere. The host was very helpful and offered suggestions on things we might want to do in the vicinity. The hotel was walking distance to good restaurants, interesting shops, and even a place to rent bicycles to... More
