I've stayed at the Fairfield inn in East Rutherford many times. There's a bus that takes you into NYC (Times Square) which takes between 15 and 30 minutes depending on the traffic.

Everytime I've stayed here, the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and helpful and the continental breakfast was a good way to start the day.

As mentioned in previous reviews there is only one restaurant that is walking distance from the hotel and little else in the industrial area. If you have a car you can drive into Rutherford which takes about 5 minutes. There are plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, a beer/liquor store, banks and a 24 hour pharmacy.

Being a Jets fan I've stayed here to attend games at the Meadowlands and you can walk to the stadium if you wish (20-30 minute walk ) depending how many beverages you are carrying with you. You can also take the city bus that will drop you off at the stadium. more
