We drove to Cape May without a reservation. We were thrilled to find the Virginia Hotel. Our room was beautiful, very comfortable and clean. We had a large balcony facing the street with a table and chairs, and lounge chairs. Just perfect. Staff was great and very friendly. Short two blocks from the beach.

Hi, let me start my review by saying that this was a Living Social deal that was an excellent deal. The room was only $89 and included a $30 dining credit at the Blue Pig restaurant. Ok, besides the fact that the deal was 5 stars, the hotel experience itself was average. I often break down my reviews by giving... More

My Wife and I celebrated our Wedding Anniversary there. The staff were great and very personable, however late at night we had a horrific experience with the pests in the room. The room was filled with gnats when we returned from dinner due to a ragtag repair job done on the window where there was a small crack open to... More

Loved breakfast delivered on the front porch on a silver tray. Friendly, helpful staff. Situated in historic area. Great shower.

We have been to the Virginia on many occassions and we have always had a lovely time. I must say that I was disappointed with this last visit. Our room was on the third floor and in 79 degree weather that weekend, it never got below 74 degrees in the room. We called the front desk, someone came up right... More

We stayed at The Virgina Hotel in Cape May, New Jersey May1-3, 2012. They put us in a room in the pink cottage, which we later learned would be rented as a cottage during the summer months. The location is ideal: an easy walk to the beach. Sadly the weather was awful- rainy and cold. Because we were not in... More

we just returned from a great weekend at the Virginia Hotel. We booked a package which included a food/services credit that we could use at any of their properties, which was very nice. we ate dinner at the beach shack the first nite, which was alot of fun; party atmosphere right across from the beach. we had lunch and mother's... Sometimes when you get it right the first time, you don't trust your instincts and think there must be better alternatives. Wrong, we have returned to the warm bosom of the Virginia after trying others. Don't go anywhere else. You can't beat the location, level of service, excellent dining and sheer wonderful ambience. Forget about those places with funny names.

While the hotel itself is nice, we stayed in the Grey cottage, which was less than we expected. The 2nd bedroom is tiny, but has a large bathroom, the large bedroom has a ridiculous bathroom. Its a bit run down - not at all what I expected. But the location is fantastic and the staff is great, too.
