This gem is a low key sister to the grand Congress Hall big sister resort. The Virginia was a beautiful, laid-back inn, set among a picture perfect street in Cape May. The inn is a few blocks from the pedestrian mall. It is half a block from the beach. We literally parked our car via the awesome Roman the valet... More

We usually stay at Congress Hall, but felt like a change and had heard great things about the Virginia. It is owned by the same group, so we expected it to be first class, and it was. We had a corner room #201, which was great. Big windows on two sides, nice and bright. Spotless and well-appointed. Nice size bathroom.... More

Quaint, Victorian style hotel. Fantastic bar/restaurant in lobby. Great views of ocean. Restaurants and shopping all within walking distance. Loved the location and would definitely return again. Weather was perfect.

Valet parking by a friendly young gentleman started our wonderful excursion to the Virginia Hotel. We were met in the lobby by Jess who handled our check in quickly. Ice cold lemon water and cookies awaited us there as well. Up to the third floor (whew) and opened our door to a sparkling clean room. A walk-in spa shower was... More

First off our room in the red cottage was dirty. Trash cans filled with trash and bed didn't have fresh sheets on it. Bed was a sloppy mess and toilet seat was up. Made manager aware and her response was "ok I'll let housekeeping aware and have it turned over." No apologies. Ate dinner at Ebbet room. A member in... More

We stayed for two nights in early April. Unfortunately, It was chilly and rainy. However, the lobby of the hotel is cozy, and they had a fire in the fireplace. We chose to eat our breakfasts in a little porch alcove off the lobby, which was a bit private. Breakfast was adequate and we tried various combinations. The room was... More

Enjoyed our off season overnight at the Virginia Hotel. Room very clean, loved the shower. Breakfast brought up next morning per our request, fresh coffee and muffins. Was a bit warm on third floor and a/c was not working yet. Propped open window but it didn't have a screen. Otherwise, very pleasant visit. Enjoyed my first visit to Cape May.

flyinhi208, Thank you for taking the time to share your review regarding your stay at the Virginia Hotel. I want to thank you for your understanding regarding our A/C system, during your time with us we were repairing the system for the season. Some of the rooms were a tad warmer than others. Your suggestion of screens is a terrific... More

Stayed in Cape May for the weekend at another hotel. Decided to extend our stay through Monday by booking a Groupon for one night at the Red Cottage. We should have been clued in to future issues from the very beginning when the front desk staff indicated that we were going to be staying in the Pink Cottage, not the... More

Charming hotel perfect for a couples weekend getaway. Love the front porch to have a cocktail and relax. the rooms were small but well done for a harming old hotel. Breakfast in bed was a great treat as well. Front desk was very helpful getting us information and reservations.
