Where to begin? The Congress Hall is a great historic hotel in a GREAT location in Cape May. If you like being where the action is, this is the hotel for you. Too many amenities to name, but I'll give a few: ADULT POOL! Oh my, was this nice! It's great that there was complimentary wi-fi and complimentary valet service!... more

We drove into Cape May with no plans, even a bit unsure if we would stay the night. Congress Hall jumps out at you. It is a large yellow hotel on the waterfront. It was hard to tell if was going to have charm or be overkill. It is lovely. They have retained the wonderful old beach hotel feeling in... more

Congress Hall is a very old hotel. There are pictures in the lobby of John Phillips Souza playing there in 1866. The current incarnation is perfect for how we live today. Charming window seats in the room coexist with flat screen TV's, WiFi and Aveda toiletries. Big fluffy duvets & 6 down pillows on the bed. Ocean views and floors... more

My husband and I stayed here overnight for a wedding. We were impressed by how quickly the valet got us out of our car and whisked it away-also checking to see if our room was ready (and it was!) The lobby was quaint; I took the time to stop and gaze at the old fashioned elevators and the staircase, wondering... more

We have stayed at Congress Hall several times. The location is great! It is located across from the beach & the Washington Square Mall. The hotel offers beach service to guests. Attendants are on the beach to set up chairs and provide towels. A nice amenity. We ate breakfast at the Blue Pig Tavern and were not impressed. I would... more

Very well-restored Victorian hotel. Public areas on first floor have grand proportions. Sophisticated, whimsical decor. Rooms are furnished simply, but with very comfortable mattresses and high quality linens. There was a very nice cocktail lounge. We had lunch at the Blue Pig restaurant on the outdoor patio which was very enjoyable. We like hotels rather than bed and breakfast inns,... more

We would never recommend this hotel to anyone who likes to sleep at night. We stayed a Friday and Saturday night, and there was an event below us on the balcony both nights. It sounded like the people were right in our room, and we were on the third floor. We complained and they refuned our second night without much... more

Since we are new to TripAdvisor, we just want to provide a comment on our many enjoyable stays at Congress Hall. We have truly been CH regulars over the years and return at least a half dozen times yearly. Besides having represented Cape May as the "Jewel in the Crown" for almost 200 years, we just want to add how... more

We stayed at Congress Hall for an overnight get away, and it was spectacular as always! We have been staying at Congress Hall for the past three years, and have to let everyone known about this Gem! The service and staff are always helpful and the decor is exceptional regardless of the season! The only thing we were not fond... more

We arrived on a cold, rainy day in mid-March, resigned to spending more time indoors than out. The hotel was finishing renovations in its spa area and the balcony room we'd chosen would have been noisy, so the manager graciously moved us to a wonderful room on the top floor with two window seats overlooking the ocean. Watching the waves... more
